Great series

I love this series. I won't spend a lot of time writing about how great it is but will state that it is the only series I buy in hardback and literally devour in one sitting.

Moving Up?

ALL THAT IS HIDDEN by Rhys Bowen and Clare Broyles
A reunion with Molly (nee Murphy) and Daniel Sullivan is such a delight that I read on joyfully, oblivious to the world, until the “parting is such sweet sorrow” end. Sigh . . .
This was a wild and twisty ride, beginning with a move to a 5th Avenue brownstone as Daniel enters the world of Tammany Hall politics, “trust me, I am on the right side here.” It’s not quite clear where the right side is or whom can be trusted, and it’s even more worrisome as Bridie’s school friendship puts her in the middle of the dangers. Disappearances, fires, murder, and the lesser woes of dealing with snobbish servants, together make Molly long for her sweet house on Patchin Place, and I couldn’t blame her. There are many surprises, but you know I won’t spoil them. Do block out a free day and discover for yourself.

Political maneuvering

This book is full of surprises and changes which are sprung upon Molly by her husband Daniel. He’s inexplicably decided he’s going to run for sheriff of NY and is moving the family to a house on Fifth Avenue. He won’t say what his reasons are or why this is happening with no discussion between the two of them. Molly is displeased but tries to make the best of the situation. When his benefactor part of the corrupt Tammany Hall is suddenly murdered Molly expects this will be the end of their unexpected journey but it turns out it’s just the beginning. A dangerous game is being played but will our intrepid heroine be able to get to the truth or will this case be too dangerous to solve for all of them?
I know Molly was displeased buy her change in circumstances but it was a fun new scenario to read about. She may be a simple country girl but she definitely has the spunk to shake up the swells lol! I enjoyed the change of pace and the complex case. I’m totally with Molly though if my husband up and moved us with no warning I’d want to pop him one good one too. I had an inkling as the case developed about who the culprit might be but I was excited to see how the solution panned out. Love the sweet surprise at the end!! A wonderful addition to a beloved series!!!

I love this series!

Having read and enjoyed the Molly Murphy series since book #1, I am so happy that Rhys Bowen's daughter Clare Broyles is now co-writing this series with Rhys to continue adding to the series! This book was enjoyable and so many unexpected events happened it kept me turning the pages. I love how even though Molly is no longer an investigator, Daniel still respects her as one, and she helped out in this case, and solved the crazy puzzle of whodunit. Happy news at the end that I won't mention here, but I cannot wait for Book #20 in this series! Please keep up the great work.
