Original concept (only better) for "Where's Waldo?"

I always look at this book as the original concept for "Where's Waldo?" combined with the marvellous historical and familial aspects of the character Anno's travels through Europe. Don't only look for Anno on each page; there are so many additional whimsies!

Wonderful book!!

This is a beautiful book. Very easy to read as there are no words, only page after page of pictures that tell many more stories than a single book can offer. The arework is simple but detailed and is great for children who can't read yet to older people who want to enjoy the beautiful artwork.

Incredible

I have never met such a book. It is a plain pleasure to take it, sit down with a cup of tea and spend some hours (!literally!) on observing the life of those people or looking for all the hidden jokes made with the perspective, composition, citations, self references... So in fact anyone in my family is happy because of this Journey: my 3 years old son as well as my wife and me.

BTW we are Polish, so, as you can guess, there is no language barrier. Anyone on the world could take this book and just start to read and appreciate it.

Love it! decent quality for paperback

Love it! decent quality for paperback, very detailed illustrations, you will notice something new each time you read it. WARNING: this was recommended by a friend, so i knew beforehand there would be no words in it. however the pictures provide a rich story. LOTS OF HIDDEN "EASTER EGGS"!

A favorite for generations to come.

Clever, mysterious, funny, insightful, historical, whimsical, fascinating, heart-bonding, multi-layered, plain fun, and WORDLESS. The story in this book is the one you and your child will spin as you work through mini-tableaus captured by Anno. So many plot lines leap from the pages, the book is bottomless. You can spend a minute per page at one age, and 20 minutes per page at another. You can talk about cute things, or the questions of life, supported by the intricate imagery. The experience is up to the storyteller, you, assisted by tiny, often unexpected scenes from life which will make anyone ready to tell a tale to fit the page. Too much fun! It is likely your child will "read" Anno's Journey"to their child. And they will remember YOUR trips together every page of the journey.

Wonderful, creative book

As with most of Anno's books, this has amazing artwork. You take a journey and see lots of historical objects, some fun impossible scenes, and more. It has no words, just pictures which is great. You must use your mind to "read" the book. All our kids have loved these.

Love it!

My favorite book as a child. Love the illustrations and the stories and art references to find. It's great for teaching adult ESL students too. My students love to find the cultural references they know and learn about the ones they don't.
