While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype , an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. It went on to win Miura a prize from the Comi Manga School. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Kentarou started a project titled King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken ( Fist Of The North Star ).In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan . Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists. In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV.The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan made, ranging from statues and action figures, to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. A must have for fans of Berserk

I have all the standard manga currently released (the cheaper, paperback ones) and this hardcover collection is quite impressive. The binding is very high quality & it has a nice, sturdy front/back cover and spine. I bet these will be able to last me a long time. Since I've read the manga up until the most recent issue, I haven't had a chance to sit down and read through it again in the hardcover format, but I did skim through and the quality is very good from what I've seen.

The book comes shrink wrapped in plastic. There's a large, stretchy black band inside that can serve as a bookmark as well.

Although a bit pricey, these are definitely worth having if you're a fan of Berserk- whether you're a new fan or more of a die-hard. Definitely recommend.

Tower of Conviction Arc Finale

In these three volumes we get the finale for the tower of conviction arc. Guts finds Casca but is constantly getting interrupted by a mysterious figure making pseudo apostles. Amazing artwork as always with amazing two page spreads. Action is just a impactful and gory.

Had a somewhat major error in my copy

Ok, I currently have all of these and i would give them all perfect review but number 7 specifically came with a large chunk of the pages not bound now i carefully glued these back in it still looks fine but for what you pay i just feel like there should be better quality control than that im sure it isnt a major repetitive issue but it isnt fun being the one who receives it.

Another massive tome to enjoy the dark story of Guts.
Book came in perfect condition, binding is good. No scuffs or marring on tbe book itself. A lovely tome of 500+ pages covers the conviction arc: Birth ceremony
Blackswordsman on holy ground to Blood Flow of the dead pt 2.

Defect on pages 2/3 into book :(

Most of these were excellent quality but this one came with a major defect on a couple pages. I'm collecting these, especially not that the author has passed.. and now this one has a glaring defect. I didn't find it until after the return deadline so now I'm stuck with this defective product. I would expect some QA from such a reputable company.

Love berserk but when stretching the seems I found something.

Never had this issue with my other 6 volumes. May read it through but request a replacement after due to this. It was brand new in the wrapping. Not a terrible ordeal but it's annoying to say the least. Looks like as if some one just folded it to hide it and said whatever.

WOW

Not only did volume 7 come in good condition, but I believe that this is one of the best complete volumes in the series. The conviction arc is a masterpiece and the conclusion was spectacular. Miura will forever be known as a genius who crafted one of the greatest stories of our time

Almost half way through, huh

And so ends conviction arc. Not my favorite (religious theme here seems a bit to long) but that's just my personal preference. Go for it, if you have spare shelf
