But when a Bible verse turns up with the body, he and his partner realize this is no random murder. The Bridgeport community is shocked; the popular nun taught generations of students. Within two weeks a young man’s body is found with a similar Bible verse. What is the connection between the two victims? And who is the so-called Bible Thumper perp?

The author has crafted a great follow up to her first novel

In Blind Eye, we find Jack Bailey of Bailey's law working for the Chicago PD along with his partner Sherk and a cast of well drawn characters, including his insufferable boss Daisy. The murder of a seemingly much-loved nun whose body is found with a Bible verse affixed, and subsequent murders, leads Jack and Sherk to wonder if they have a serial killer on their hands. The investigation proceeds at a steady, suspenseful pace, with no shortage of suspects, yet the ending is unexpected. Thrown into the mix are Jack's ongoing PTSD, a budding romance, Sherk's personal issue, and the partners' ongoing entertaining banter involving Sherk's Shakespeare and Bible quote, and Jack's sarcastic comebacks.

The author has crafted a great follow up to her first novel, yet this one can stand alone. The ending provides an intriquing hint of what's to come in her third novel.

Murder with a Catholic Connection

Jack Bailey is back in a new, engrossing detective novel set in modern-day Chicago. Who could possibly want to murder a much-loved Catholic nun, and what is the meaning of a Bible verse found by her body? Bailey and his younger partner Sherk are charged with investigating her death, fearful that this murder may be only the beginning. Complicating matters, both Bailey and Sherk battle personal tragedy and demons from their past. Can they put aside their own insecurities and fears in time to stop a serial killer? Fast-paced and engaging, this novel has plenty of twists with a stunning, surprise ending. Enjoy!

I highly recommend it!

Blind Eye is a great read and I definitely recommend it! The focus is a murder case where the killer leaves Bible verses with the victims' bodies. I especially enjoyed the banter between the cops and the quotations one of them has for every situation and the sarcasm of the other. It gave me a few laughs while reading a very well written book. The end was quite a surprise! Kudos to Meg Lelvis.

Cops and Killers

Detective Jack Bailey is solving murders again—back in Chicago now, happy to be away from Houston area weather and a romance gone sour. Still gruff and impatient, with a caustic humor, and on the lookout for female companionship. Jack can’t stand his boss, Daisy, and barely tolerates his partner, Sherk, who quotes Shakespeare and the Bible. His closest friend is the aging dog, Boone. Jack and Sherk track a serial killer also fond of biblical verses. Child abuse, PTSD, family secrets, priests and nuns, physical and mental health issues keep this clever story lively and interesting.

not good

Book starts out well, but it feels like it is not a stand alone. Have there been books before this? So many characters, like you have been dropped in a movie somewhere half way. I stopped shortly after 20 % in, reading how they ate too much and could not do their jobs. Bad bad bad.

A great weekend read - perfect to take to the beach or on the plane to your vacation destination

After reading Bailey's Law which takes place in the Houston area where I live, I wasn't sure how I would like Jack Bailey moving back to Chicago where he was from. I already knew and liked Jack from Bailey's Law, but now I was able to get to know his family and more about what made him tick. The story pulls you in and the ending is completely unexpected. I started reading Blind Eye and couldn't put it down.

Bailey is asked to solve the murder of a nun ...

Bailey is asked to solve the murder of a nun, who was killed some time ago. A nun is almost by definition an unknowable person and an unlikely person to be murdered. So first a hypothesis for the murder must be tested. Bailey, of course, succeeds in this and the murder is solved or is it?
Read this for an entangled end.
