Brain Games - Crossword Puzzles - Large Print (Green)

Based on the reviews, I ordered this for my mother-in-law who loves to do crossword puzzles yet is visually impaired. As soon as she saw it, her response was, "This isn't large print!" While the blocks for the puzzle appear to be larger, the clues are NOT. It is impossible for her to do these puzzles with any enjoyment at all. A great disappointment--and the first time I've ever written a review. The other books I ordered for her at the same time (large print word search and sudoku) were fine. This crossword puzzles was NOT!!

High quality paper, which doesn't fall apart or smudge when erasing pencil marks.
I wish there were many more books like this!
Unfortunately, I can find only 2, this and one other, and now my mother has completed both!
There are word-find versions, which are not the same. I hope they come out with more soon.

The puzzles are just right for me,not too hard or not too easy. I have had to look up a couple of the answers. Everyone is different in how they can solve crosswords but I would consider these to be medium.

Seems several "consultants" were used to put book together. Too bad they didn't bother with an EDITOR whose job is to confirm every word in the grid actually included a clue. Spiral binding really only helpful if clues & grid share the same page, allowing for smaller footprint/lap solving.
(A little more 'challenge' in the puzzles themselves wouldn't have hurt, either.)

I buy these books for my dad as they are large print and offer a medium difficulty. I only wish the author would write more of them!

A large print crossword book that is easy to see and fun to do. The puzzles are interesting and challenging. Would recommend.

I purchased this book for an 83yr old man I am a caregiver for & I noticed he had a stack of cw puzzle books that had pretty much gone untouched. He has some dementia so I thought that was why he stopped doing them but it was actually because he couldn’t fill in the small boxes. Also the ring binding & thicker pages makes it easier for him to handle than the softbound ones. *** update- puzzle book finished & he wants more like this one! Order is on the way... :>)

These puzzles are pretty easy as proven by the fact that I can usually solve them in under 10 minutes. Not all the time but mostly. There is always a clever theme for the longer clues. Pretty good entertainment.

The spiral design is nice. Because of the large print, you need both the left and the right pages at the same time. This could be difficult with a regular, spline book.

LOVE these. This is now the SECOND of these books we've bought.

The print giving the clues are not what I would call large print. Wasn't all that satisfied - gave them away
