Brain Games - Large Print Crossword Puzzles (Purple)

There are just so many knockoffs on Amazon. You see it all the time in reviews. People selling imitations of the real thing (when you think you're getting the real thing). My experience isn't a BIG deal but indicative of a growing problem? I ordered this crossword puzzle book because we had ordered the same one through Walmart and I really liked it. Words were printed in deep black on sturdy and smooth cardstock-like pages. Just very good quality. Ordered the same exact book from Amazon and, well, one of those imitations showed up. Very thin and scratchy pages. No deep black print. It still functions, does what it's supposed to, but doesn't feel as nice in the hand, you know? Just not the same. Amazon, can you set up some kind of quality control? This is silly.

I bought this book for Mom a couple months ago and she is still spending most of every day with it. At 87, she needs the brain exercise and it's obvious it does her a lot of good. The large print layout is also very helpful.

This is the worse puzzle book I have ever bought and I have purchased many from Amazon. The clues are nonsensical and the answers are even worse. Very little thought , craft and talent went into producing this book. Never again!

Should have given more weight to the bad reviews. Randomly checked two puzzles, one had answers that were so bizarre and obscure that I felt that the error was intentional, and in the other instance, the answer given had too many letters to fit in the cells - bummer! Now I have to find some way to dispose of this refuse but I don't want to contaminate the trash. This is the first negative review I've ever written.

I really like the large print format and large puzzle grid. That being said, the creators use the same clues over and over again. The puzzles cover many decades of history, so might be challenging for younger crowd (no, asking Siri is no fair, ha ha).

I did not like that many/most of the puzzles were very specific in a certain field or area of expertise, not for the regular person.

I purchased these for someone having surgery. Helped pass the days recuperating in the hospital, and later at home.
These puzzles didn’t seem to be overly complicated, but challenging enough to continue through the book.

I like the easy readability of this crossword book. It is not easy crosswords but it won't drown you either. It would be nice to have all the clues, but the answers are in the back, so it's good!

My family loves these, age 16 to 75, something for everyone in them! Put down your phones people, and use your brains! Fun!

I like the large print - it allows me to "puzzle" longer without eye strain - and the ability the ringed spine gives to lay the book flat. The clues are sufficiently difficult for someone who uses crosswords as the mental equivalent of stretching, rather than strenuous exercise. The only thing I don't like are the references to pop icons, many of whom I am not familiar with, but it's not a deal breaker.
