Excitement, glistening fun and a great message too

Glitter and barn yard celebration abound in this lovely Valentine's story, which shows that love and friendship stretch beyond even carefully built and mended boundaries.

Valentine's Day is a special day at the farm, but no one is as excited as Little Duck. Streamers and balloons dangle from every barnyard corner for the big celebration, and all farm animals are more than happy to join in the fun. Just as everyone is dancing away, an unexpected guest arrives and not necessarily the most desired one.

Starting with a good 'ole barnyard feel of fence fixing and hay, this book quickly turns to giggles and smiles thanks to one cute Little Duck and her extreme Valentine's Day excitement. The joy gleams from the pages—and not only because of the delightful oodles of glitter sweeping across every illustration. Little Duck's excitement is contagious. The mix of barnyard animals and their fun rounds off the festivities before the wonderful message sets in, and what a timely message it is. In a way that raises a little tension and holds a spark of fun, the book takes on the question of diversity and reminds not to judge people by their appearance.

The illustrations are adorable, and the ample splashes of glitter make every page a treat. It's colorful and detailed enough to make young listeners want to gaze at the pictures even on their own. The text flows nicely, fits well to ages four and up, and delivers the tale with finesse. But it's definitely the illustrations which make this book shine. Literally.

It's a cute book, especially for farm animal friends, and a nice read for the approaching holiday or even long after that.

I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed the tale as well as the glistening pages so much (as did my kids) that I wanted to leave my honest thoughts.

Cute; Not Outstanding

I was a bit disappointed in this book, since the other "Click Clack Moo" books are actually funny and silly. This isn't funny or silly at all; it's cute and sweet, but there's no real story, so it's mostly just a cute collection of illustrations about a duck giving his friends Valentines. Cute, but I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again. Plus, the cover has glitter on it. Just a heads up!

Another Click, Clack, Moo hit

Cute book. I love the glitter accents on the Valentine decorations in the book. Also love the sweet way duck accepts fox. Can't go wrong with a Click, Clack, Moo book.

This just arrived and it is adorable!! Another win from the Click, Clack, Moo series!! ❤️
Little Duck is so excited for Valentine’s Day! She makes cards for everyone, and also decorates the farm with streamers, lights, balloons, hearts, the works!
The animals are so ready to celebrate and dance but when an unexpected guest shows up, will they still be in the party mood or will Little Duck’s Valentine party be ruined?
A great story of friendship, coming together, and that things, people, or animals aren’t always what they seem. ❤️

Glittery Fun

The animals from the bestselling book, Click Clack Moo are back and ready to celebrate Valentine's Day. While Farmer Brown is busy caring for the animals, Little Duck is busy decorating the barn for a Valentine's Day dance. As the farm animals arrive, Little Duck happily hands out Valentines to each guest. Outside, Little Fox follows a trail of balloons and streamers to the party. As the predator enters, the music stops and the farm animals look on in fear. Little Duck is not scared, however, and cheerfully delivers a Valentine to the fox and receives one in return. Little Fox and Little Duck dance the night away and the other animals quickly join in.

Not having a sense of the food chain, my two-year-old didn't really understand why the other animals were scared of the fox, but she happily glossed over this and had fun touching the sparkly glitter on the pages. This series is always popular and I think many children will enjoy the story, but will mostly be won over by the glitter. There is a nice underlying message of inclusion and not judging others on their appearance that will hopefully also resonate with children. This is a fun addition to the holiday collection.

When You Have Love, What More Do You Need? Music? Dancing? A Super Recipe For Happy Valentine's Day!

New book just came in today's mail. Cute and sure to please young kids, especially those learning to read. Little Duck sets an example on how to be an embracing force for all to get together and get along while having a good time. Only wish Duck was in this story. He is illustrated at the very end of the book though (at least I'm sure it's Duck... missed opportunity if so. Valentine could have/should have had his printed name IMHO) - Duck always makes me smile. Love the last page of text (appeals to us "grownups", natch).
