Culture Warrior

I recently purchased the audio CD version of Culture Warrior to listen to in my car while I am out and about. I am very grateful that I did! Bill O'Reilly has written a great book about the differences between traditional and secular Americans! I am in my early 20s and I believe all ages of Americans including teenagers will LOVE this book. He begins with a fictitious speech by a future secular president in the year 2020. This is very eye-opening to hear what may happen to this country if those who are secular (believing the country is fundamentally flawed and want to take God out of the public) gain more control. O'Reilly is a traditional American and gives an incredible number of examples to prove why there is a "war" between the traditionalists and secularists. Audio CD is especially wonderful because those who like Bill O'Reilly's radio and tv shows will enjoy hearing him basically read the book to you in the way only O'Reilly can do! Read this book even if you THINK you might disagree with him because trust me, you will end up agreeing with him on more topics than you think! 1 example is the crazy movement to take the word "Christmas" out of the shopping mall sales. The book is also very funny. YOU WILL ENJOY CULTURE WARRIOR!

First of all, for all the neo-cons out there, I did read the book. I'm getting tired of both sides of the fence screaming "You didn't read it!" just because the reveiwer has a different opinion. Second, I like reading comentary books by authors on both sides of the fence, provided they have something to say. I won't touch a book by Al Gore, Al Franken or Ann Coulter because I know it will be nothing but finger pointing, bad mouthing and playing the blame game. I was hoping that this book would be different, and it was. Oreilly didn't do the finger pointing as much as he talked about all the people that were doing finger pointing at him. This whole thing was pretty much Oreilly talking about what everyone has been saying about him since his last book was published. He rarely backs up his opinions with any substance giving us an idea of why he believes the things he does. His formula is pretty much the same from chapter to chapter: he gives his opinion on something, talks about himslef and how he is overly qualified to have that opinion and quotes the "wackos" who disagree with his opinion thereby verifying his stance on the issue in the first place. And those are the few chapters where he actually is talking about something other than his own biography.

If you want to hear Orielly talk about himslef and how popular he is for a few hundred pages, this is the book for you. If you want to really get some insight into what his feelings are on the secular progressive movement that is taking place in this country you'll be better off to watch or listen to his media shows.

If you like this guy there is little to change your mind because it is too late. For those of you that are actualy objective in your views, this is just extreme right wing propaganda and pretty much a joke.

Culture Warrior teaches us what and who is behind all the controversary in our society. It reveals the lack of morality in our country and why christianity is under attack. I am looking forward to listening to this again and again.

I am not a fan of Bill O'Reilley, but I must say that I agree with him in how our country is letting the minority leftists overrun the majority of conservatives. What happened to politeness, feelings for another human being. How is it that children are killed right in their homes and gangs roam the cities? Bill's answer seems to be that we have just allowed this form of violence to go on and now it's escalating. Is it too late? No, we can pick ourselves up and get a little tough love going here. This country is the best in the world. Let's keep it that way. America was built on strong moral values and now is not the time to disregard those morals.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he listened to it every time he was in his car from the time I gave it to him until the time he finished it. He loved it!!! He is a salesman and is in his car for long periods of time and he asked me to get him more books on CD. I did, I recently purchased a few more books on CD from Amazon and am waiting their arrival for my husband's Birthday this month.

Bill O'Reilly makes important comments on the state of the country and civilization. Only those who have closed minds will not see the insights into issues that are creating conflicts in the culture brought to light by this book. It is always an extra bonus to have the book read by the author so that the right emphasis will be brought out.

While I am not constant viewer of the Factor, I have watched the show and found Bill's persistence with getting the facts out on the table refreshing. Too many discussions in the media are simply opinions or smear campaigns to discredit the opposition. I have been suspicious of the media and disappointed by the lack of quality journalism. By defining the secular progressive movement he has developed a framework that can be used to examine the various attacks on our traditional way of life that we see in politics, judicial activists, Hollywood, and the media. If you are interested in protecting the traditional American way of life then you should read or listen to Bill's Culture Warrior and decide for yourself.

Only Bill O'reilly can take on the secular progressives like a bulldog. Stand up and cheer if you are a traditionalist!
