Description

"One of the most eagerly anticipated sequels of the year, Do Not Disturb is every bit as twisted and exciting as its predecessor.... If you enjoy your thrillers intensely raw, dark and unusual, look no further. Torre is captivating."― RT Book Reviews on Do Not Disturb "It's not for the feint hearted, granted, but A.R Torre does an incredible job of taking a sensitive subject matter and telling a compelling and thought provoking story... The Girl in 6E is definitely worth a peek.― Jodi Ellen Malpas, #1 New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author on The Girl in 6E "An incredible debut. Gritty, unique, primal, full of angst, oddly feminist, and right up my alley. The Girl in 6E deviates from formulaic romance to deliver something truly special and worthy of praise and attention. A dark soul like me isn't often surprised by controversy or taboo subject matter, but this book delivers and I'll be reading more A.R. Torre books in the future. Kudos!"― CJ Roberts, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Dark Duet "Dark, edgy, and thrilling in a completely unexpected way."― Lisa Renee Jones, New York Times bestselling author of The Inside Out series "A.R. Torre's The Girl in 6E lifts the veil on the dark, erotic world of camming, but the book contains so many more surprises than that. At the novel's core, a tender heart beats, and the increasingly suspenseful pages fly by as its deepest secrets are revealed. This is a taut, edgy, thrill ride, powerfully gripping and impossible to turn away from."― David Bell, author of Never Come Back and Cemetery Girl " The Girl in 6E is uniquely twisted and captivates from the beginning. The premise is entirely original, as are the characters and the pacing. The main character may be a cold killer, but inside is a woman with a soul who sacrifices everything to keep from unleashing herself on the world.... Torre has written a beautifully warped thriller that will be staying with this reviewer for a long time to come."― RT Book Reviews, Top Pick! (4.5 Stars) "A taut thriller unlikes any suspense novel today."― The Quincy Herald-Whig on The Girl in 6E A.R. Torre is an open pseudonym for Alessandra Torre, an award-winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of eleven novels. What happens when the door is opened....

Deanna is at it again!
Deanna is such a complex character, and where at first I questioned how I was going to like her, I am now slightly obsessed with her character. I go through my daily life and will have a "Deanna" moment!
Don't know what that means...You will when you read her stories...

Where this book can be a stand alone you will better understand the characters and where they are in this book if you read the Girl in 6E first. This book picks up right after the first. She had her taste of freedom outside her walls, what happens now?
Needless to say if you loved the first book you won't be disappointed in the second...or the third.
I can't get enough of this story, and only hope to see it continue!

Till then, don't open the door....

Starts strong but ends weak.

After experiencing the outside world for the first time in 3 years, Deanna is left craving more. With her new beau Jeremy and recent experience outside she feels the need to take more baby steps into the real world. It's a big issue and she knows it's a huge risk, but like her urge to kill, she's finding it harder as the days pass to ignore the urge to walk out the door. What Deanna doesn't realize is she has an even bigger issue coming her way. A client she's recently blocked is just as dangerous as she is, and he will stop at nothing until he has her.

I was a little disappointed with this one. It had me going full steam until the build up just petered out at the end. I guess I was looking for more in regards to the ending. Still enjoyed the ride, and will definitely be reading the third in the series

Dark, edgy and more romance than 6E!

I'm loving this series! It's dark, edgy and I find myself liking Deanna when I probably shouldn't. She's a girl consumed with homicidal tendencies and a lust for blood. One that dreams and fantasizes about the ways she can kill those she comes into contact with.

In this book, we see some growth and change in Deanna. She's trying to have somewhat of a 'normal' relationship with Jeremy. Thank god, because he's amazing! Especially since he's aware of her issues and still tries to make a go of it with her. Isn't that what we all desire, to find someone that will accept us and love us, flaws and all?

We don't love people for their traits - traits are common. We love them for their unique ability to tug at our soul, to connect with us in a way that no other person can. Love is unexplainable, unpredictable, and often unreasonable.

Deanna is still a cam girl, but she seems more laid back about it. She not so regimented and obsessive about it now that she has somewhat of a life outside of 6E. She finds herself in an interesting position when one of her psycho clients decides to track her down. It's a good thing she has Mike looking out for her. Or is it?

I really liked Mike's storyline and hope we get to see more from him in the next book. And, of course, Jeremy didn't disappoint. Yum. There was a bit more romance in this one, which I'm definitely not complaining about. Their chemistry was killer.

This is all I need. This is stronger than my affliction, my dark needs. This is what is important. This love might be my salvation.

The only thing that held me back from a five star rating was the psycho client. The suspense and the anticipation surrounding him was intense, but when it all came to a head, it wasn't as satisfying as I expected it to be. She was a badass, but I thought there would have been more of a confrontation between the two of them.

Once again, Alessandra Torre has pulled off a story that was different and unexpected. She writes really great sex scenes, but she's also great at suspense. I hope we get more of both in the future.

Disturbing

God bless our justice system.

A.R. Torre revealed her previous novel, The Girl In 6E was not meant to have a sequel. Quite frankly, I was skeptical of how this story was going to continue. Deanna Madden, a homicidal recluse to goes by the online user name of Jess Reilly, never leaves her apartment and earns a living by stripping for strangers on the internet. This storyline seemed like it could only go so far.

Do Not Disturb centers on one of Jess's clients, Marcus Renza, an ex-felon who has recently been released from prison. As his parole comes to an end, he promptly sets about tracking Jess down, his anger and blood-lust heightened by the fact Jess blocked him and barred him from her online presence. I am constantly amazed with the amount of personal information people put online. Facebook both baffles and bores me. I've never had a Twitter page or Instagram account. I am content with the knowledge that a psychopath will never find me as easily as Marcus Renza did. For all of Deanna's attempts at privacy, it only took a few pushes of a button and a few snips of pliers to get her name and address.

The third novel comes out later this year. Now I'm really curious to know where this story is going to go.

4.5 "Disturbing Justice" Stars!

4.5 "Disturbing Justice" Stars! Perhaps psychologically the darkest story I have ever read. I literally had to pause reading this story at a number of crucial points, because I was just that affected. So please heed the warning. This book is not for everyone; but if you value originality in your romances and have an open mind, then I guarantee this will be one of the most mind blowing tales you could ever read.

A Work of Art!

Wow! Alessandra Torre never disappoints! Do Not Disturb had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I became intrigued with Deanna Madden in The Girl In 6E- wanted to know more about her. Here, in Do Not Disturb, I learn more about Deanna- her thoughts, her feelings and her fears. Yes, I said her fears. Deanna comes across as someone who doesn't want you to know she is actually afraid....at least that is the feeling I get from her. We got a taste of Jeremy Bryant in The Girl In 6E and I definitely wanted more of him. Jeremy is an amazing man who has a major soft spot for Deanna. I fell for Jeremy fast. His patience, his kindness and his love for Deanna are what make him so special.
Do Not Disturb is a book full of suspense, thrill, romance and even death. Deanna wants to be "normal," but at what cost? Do Not Disturb is a MUST READ!

Worth the Read, but I Would've Done a Few Things Differently.

I bought this book used, & it came in the condition I expected, so no issues there. I liked this book, but def didn't love it. I think the first one was better, but I seem to be among the minority in that opinion. That being said, it was definitely worth the read, & I'll be ordering the final book in the series after finishing this review. I'm going to get into specifics now, SO...

SPOILER ALERT:

Okay, I didn't love the climax between Deanna & Marcus. I mean this whole situation was built up & built up for the entire book & then was ultimately underwhelming. I would've liked more of a power struggle there, but oh well.

That being said, in the Note From the Author its revealed that in earlier drafts, Jermey dies, & Mike gets ALL of his fingers cut off. All of that would've sucked. Deanna would've never come back from losing Jeremy & would've ended up killing Mike. What would book 3 even have been about, lol? Her therapist?

Which, speaking of the therapist, totally intrigues me. I'm really hoping he plays a bigger role in book 3. There's definitely tension between him & Deanna, & I'm interested to see where that goes.

smutty

This is the second book in this series. This book continues with Deanna and Jeremy getting to know each better. Deanna still does her camming but is slowing down some. She goes out more but is still inside before 9 pm. There is a new twist with a new client that she gets on her website. This client has just been released from jail. This book goes into more detail about her fantasy of killing. I liked this book but not as much as the first. I am glad it goes more into her relationship with Jeremy but I would like it to go into more of her trying to get help and over come her desire of killing. There is one more book in this series and I will read it to see if the author goes into healing her fantasy. I would also like to see if Jeremy will continue to be in love with her when or if she tells him the full truth about herself.
