Depressing, unpleasant book

I have read a lot of Tami Hoag and enjoyed the books, but not this one. It was just such a downer of a story. The mother was going through a lot of grief and anxiety, but she was so over the top that I could not feel much sympathy for her. She was so overly obsessed that she could not think what her actions were doing to her living daughter. Normally, the mystery part of Tami's books are so enjoyable, but there was really not much mystery in this one. Just a depressing tale of revenge that honestly was not very exciting at all, just rather boring and repetitive. Oh well, I bought the book used for a couple of bucks, so not much lost.

A hard story because as the reader you are exposed to the raw pain of a mother whose daughter has been abducted and never found. In addition, the father dies a year later - an accident - read, suicide. The mother knows in her heart whose done it, but there is no proof. She moves to another town with her only daughter and begins to take him down herself - but finds herself and her daughter in his clutches because he has an accompkice - someone who has comforted her.
