But things were simpler before the money. He may have been dirt poor, but he loved his job and fully intended to always come back from the sea to his girlfriend, Skye Weston, so they could move toward something more permanent. Or at least that had been the plan―until he returned from a two-month fishing trip to discover she had moved away and was marrying somebody else. It tore his world apart.
  • Now Skye’s back in town after nearly a decade. She’s a single mother and just as beautiful as ever. However, for some odd reason, she appears to hate him, when it should be Aiden who wants nothing to do with the woman who dumped him. The truth of the past is about to come to light, and there is so much more at stake than just Aiden’s heart.

Started strong, but fizzled...

Entangled by JS Scott is a second-chance romance told in dual POV.

At eighteen, Skye met and spent the summer of her life with Aiden Sinclair the man she comes to love.

When summer ended, Aiden had to leave for an eight week commercial fishing job but not before the two made promises of reuniting afterward and a declaration of love from Skye.

A lot can change in eight weeks and when Aiden returns, Skye is no longer waiting. In fact, she is marrying someone else.

Almost ten years later, Skye is back in town and is acting like she hates him when she is the one who left and betrayed him.

Amidst hurt feelings, broken hearts and secrets their chemistry is as hot as ever.

When the truth surfaces, will Skye and Aiden be able to find their way back to each other?

In the beginning this author captured me with young love, ideals and separation.

My heart was in my throat for them when I found out what happened.

There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.

I also loved the fact that all the cards were laid on the table from the get-go.

I must say that although my attention was captured in the beginning, I had a hard time with their reuniting. I wanted to believe in their relationship but It was a little too seamless and quick for me.

I wanted them to work for it. I wanted to feel Skye’s hesitancy and intimacy issues.
Instead, I had a hard time believing that she had any.

Their was a lot of bad history with her husband and it was not fleshed out enough for me. This whole backstory is what makes Skye who she is and it felt glossed over.

This book started out strong but fizzled a little as the story progressed.

The difference between an amazing read and the good read I experienced is in this couple’s struggle or lack thereof when getting back together.

For two people who loved each other so strongly, the emotions good and bad felt muted, dull. The anger and pain they both felt was too easily swept away.

I received an ARC via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Second chances can happen

It took a little for me to get into this story but it was well worth the time. These characters are very real to life and suffer the emotional ups and downs that young romance brings. Faced with an unexpected pregnancy and a boyfriend who took off, Skye was faced with a decision that had long term consequences. Marrying someone who would care for them both seemed like the best choice. Ten years later, she’s done with that marriage, returning to her home town knowing that she’ll have to face that man at some point.

Aidan became a billionaire quite unexpectedly but it doesn’t make his life perfect. He doesn’t bow to anyone and least of all the woman who ran off on him. He’s not willing to forgive her anything until he finds out some news that changes things.

Second chances don’t always work out nor do they happen easily. But once they happen, it can be so good.

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for this review.

I liked it

3 1/2 stars

I really liked the first book in this series, so I was really excited to start Entangled. Unfortunately second chance is my least favorite trope, but I gave it a shot anyway.

Entangled was a great story, with good characters. Aidan was sexy and a little bit bossy, but incredibly sweet and loving. Skye was a character that had a lot of issues to work through, and her constant whining did get annoying at times, but not enough for me to think about not finishing, and she does show tremendous character growth. Their journey back to each other was emotional. The big point that I really found unbelievable was Maya, this 8 year old girl. I know she is written as “gifted” but she was more articulate than my 14 yr old daughter. It was so unrealistic that I had to knock off half a star from the rating.

Overall a good read, and I can’t wait for the next book.

Rich, Sexy, Romantic - Gread Read

I just love the Sinclair sage. Even this branch of the family that has gone from rags to riches or as the series title suggest: totally rich by accident. Ms. Scott has given us another very well written storyline that will pull on the heartstrings yet make you smile throughout.

Aiden Sinclair is a simple man. A fisherman by trade who helped his older brother raise his younger siblings after his parents died. Skye was his girl and he couldn’t wait to make her his. But when he returned from a 8 week fishing trip, she was gone. Skye had moved away and married another man. Aiden is devastated. But carries on, his family needs him.

It’s now 9 years later and Skye has returned home. But so much has changed. Aiden and his family are now Billionaires and Skye is the mother of a precocious daughter. Aiden has never forgive or understood why Skye didn’t wait for him and Skye has never forgiven the fact that he never came for her, considering the circumstances. One misunderstanding after another has left these two angry, confused and heartbroken but one thing's for sure the chemistry between them is still there after all this time. But is it too late? Have too many things happened to even suggest a happy ending?

I look forward to the next book in the Accidental Billionaire series. As for Entangled - 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a heartfelt billionaire romance, one I highly recommend.

Another wonderful book full of all the feels from JS Scott. I had a hard time putting this one down. Second chance romance, especially with a child involved isn’t my fav but I loved these characters and this story.

Entangled

I love a good second chance romance. This one was so emotional with the hardships Skye had to face.
It was a little strange that Skye is back in town for a year before she and Aiden meet up again. It’s definitely awkward but sparks a conversation that should have happened a long time ago.
They try to work they the misunderstandings to find their happy ending. 5 stars!!

JS Scott does it again!

I enjoyed this book since I love the entire series starting with Simon&Cara. Without mentioning a spoiler I found the controversy all to obvious and used by too many authors.

Simple romantic narrative, underdeveloped

This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. While the writing itself was deliberate and focused, the characters and plot felt underdeveloped. Readers who are looking for anything more than a romantic narrative will not be satisfied. The story offers that of two young lovers torn apart by circumstance only to be reunited less than a decade later. While the reader is given interesting facets of what took place during the couple’s time apart, we are only told the story as a third party and never immersed into the tragedy or full emotional conflict. There is too much repetitive dialougue spent expressing feelings for one another for a book that felt like it was supposed to be angsty. It lacked that much needed push-pull factor. In addition, while the entire story is understandably told from the two perspectives of the main characters, towards the end of the book there is a shift to a chapter from a third perspective. While one can understand the need set up a segue way into the next book in a series, this action seemed like an after thought which inadvertently drew away from the primary plot. Unfortunately, it was a modest read. 2 stars.

Another great read by J.S. Scott

This is a second chance love story that will definitely pull at your heart strings. Aidan and Skye had very strong feelings toward each other nine years ago, but due to interferences and misunderstandings they were separated. It is now almost a decade later and they are back in the same town and there are some angry and hurt feelings towards one another. But once all is revealed, Aidan was determined to have his family. Unfortunately Skye does not make it easy for him, life has been difficult for her, so much so that she closed off any and all emotions except towards her daughter, Maya. But Aidan is a Sinclair and he has the means and drive to not miss out on their happily ever after.

I loved their story, but the misunderstanding that drove them apart was a bit iffy for me, but concessions do need to be made with how young Skye was and how she was brought up. I was really upset with Seth’s involvement in all that. They both sacrifices so much for others. Aidan, along with his older siblings sacrificed their childhood to make sure that they all remain together, and Skye sacrificed her own happiness (and so much more) to make sure her daughter was protected. It was finally their turn to find happiness.

Another great read by J.S. Scott. I can not wait to read about the rest of the Sinclairs and their stories.
