Fantastic
Any fan of Sword Art Online should absolutely read the light novels. They add a good amount of extra information to the story, and were good enough to be adapted into an immensely popular anime.
Absolutely get these LN's and read them, they're a great, short read for any fan of SAO.

Great story, terrible paper quality. *Possible spoilers*
I truly enjoy most light novels from Yen Press and Swort Art Online: Fairy Dance was no exception. A lot of people didn't take Fairy Dance as seriously as Aincrad because it wasn't a death game anymore.
For Kirito it was a desperate search for Asuna, who was still trapped in a virtual world, that pushed him on throughout the story. Volume 3 ends just after the battle with General Eugene and the failed attack on the Cait Sith and Sylph alliance meeting.
My main complaint about this book wasn't the story but the poor paper quality that Yen Press used. Over night my book had become very warped, taking on this wave effect. This disappointed me to no end and unless the paper quality returns to the way it was previously with the first two light novels then I can't recommend anyone buying this or future titles from them.
*Side note* I did purchase this from RightStuf as they were having a huge Yen Press sale at the time of this review.

but the light novels are by FAR my favorite of the three
I've seen the anime and read the manga, but the light novels are by FAR my favorite of the three! The just get into so much more detail about the characters' inner thoughts, etc. The illustrations are also very nicely done (though I could do without the fanservice-- there's TWO in this one), and overall it's a great read! This only gets through half the plot of the Fairy Dance story line, and I can't WAIT for the next book to come out!!

Another wonderful book!
Once again, another wonderful book! I really love this author and will continue buying from him! This book covers from roughly eposides 15-20/21 of the anime, just to give an idea. I love how the books let you more into kirito's mind then the animes. If you love the anime and the other two books, you will enjoy this book as well!

Great story, but a head scratcher
The LN does a excellent job at helping me see the beauty in what is probably the one arc in SAO I didn't much care for. It expands on characters feelings, motivations, descriptions, and purposes way better than the Anime. How Kirito describes his sister to me doesn't match up with how the art work or anime shows her. The main reason for me, that it drops a star, is how Asuna's character goes from being the co-star to a damsel in distress simply for plot device.

Great condition & amazing series!
I love this series! I originally read it on deployment when out at sea to the pacific and it kept me completely busy. It’s great to read at night before bed. My little 10 year old sister is now obsessed with manga and I thought this would be a good read for her. I got for her birthday and she is already telling me how much she loves the characters. The quality of the book is good, it’s paper cover. I’m not worried of any damage when she received it. It arrived in great condition!

Another Great Read for SAO Fans. Thanks Kawahara-sensei!
This book covers roughly half of the ALFheim arc of the first season of the anime, where most English-speaking readers were first introduced to the SAO story. As always, it's great to get first-person perspectives in the books as opposed to third-person perspectives in the anime. Another good aspect is that readers gain more information about the game (ALFheim Online) in the book than they would in the anime.
I highly recommend this book to SAO fans, and encourage them to seek out the light novels as they are translated and released.

volume 3 is a great addition to the story
While it may be a weaker storyline than the previous two volumes, volume 3 is a great addition to the story, and is a must-have for any SAO fan
