Description

Praise for Feminist Baby : "[...] Brantz does the important work of making feminism accessible with a keen understanding of what kids need to know about feminism in their young lives. [...] Feminist Baby is not just for babies. It's for all of us." ― Roxane Gay, New York Times bestselling author of Bad Feminist "Not that you should have a baby for the sole purposes of reading a book to him or her, but if I were to do that it would be because of Feminist Baby . [C]ute, inspiring, and a reminder that before society places boundaries on what girls are supposed to do and like, girls can be anything, including inspired."― Phoebe Robinson, New York Times bestselling author of You Can't Touch My Hair "Feminist Baby is for girls, boys, moms and dads. If you want your little person to grow up to be a full and equal person, Feminist Baby is for you."― Rose McGowan, Activist/Director/Artist "Forget sugar & spice--fun & fierce, that's what Feminist Baby is made of!"― Debbie Levy, award-winning author of I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark "FINALLY! Feminism for the board-book set! Feminist Baby is cute, funny, right-on, and kind of almost makes me want to have another baby just so she can grow up reading it."― Kate Schatz, author of the New York Times bestsellers Rad American Women A-Z and Rad Women Worldwide " Feminist Baby makes me want to get pregnant again immediately just so I have one more kid to share this wonderful book with. No child's bookshelf is complete without it."― Jessica Valenti, Guardian columnist & New York Times bestselling feminist author "[J]ust the thing to encourage kids to be loud, proud, and uncowed."― Publishers Weekly "The strong girl power message makes feminism and following your dreams accessible to toddlers. [...] A laugh-out-loud, smart, and much-needed addition to board book collections."― School Library Journal Loryn Brantz is a two-time Emmy Award-winning author, illustrator, and design professional. Propaganda for babies!

This is idiotic drivel and overt propaganda passing for children’s literature. I was so disappointed my public library recently acquired this board book and prominently displayed it in the kid’s section. While there is nothing wrong with infants playing with non-stereotypical toys, and it is okay for boys to cry, etc., there is no need to push ideas about little boys dressing in pink ballerina tutu’s. Stop pretending that feminism is a healthy positive movement that has little boys’ best interest in mind or that everyone should embrace it.

Propaganda disguised as children’s reading material

Propaganda for tots. Why indoctrinate your children politically at a young age?

Just a book about babies

This book is literally about babies doing what babies do with the word feminist or feminism in front of it. Teaches great morals while profiting off of the word ‘feminism’. Great tactic by the author to become popular in this movement.

Feminism helps boys too!

I am so happy to find a book that my son can enjoy that teaches him important lessons and benefits of feminism... that my son can express his feelings, share, express himself and not be restrained by the color of his teether. A great book for any patients who wants to encourage a mindful, gentle, feminist baby!

My sons love this book

This book is colorful and fun. My sons love turning the thick pages and looking at the bright pictures while we read. It would be a great gift as well.

Actual Sexism in a Nutshell

The ideas and phrases promoted by this book and all related literature solves nothing and only encourages racism, sexism, and hate. Beyond that, the statements are duplicitous in the fact that what is claimed and what is actually being said are worlds apart. Children do not have the capacity to actually understand the arguments or statements in this book but are likely to view them in a positive light when these ideas are sexist and abusive. This is textbook indoctrination and complete trash and would be removed from publishing companies in a heart beat if the author had any moral bone in their body.

My family loves this book

Since she was only a few months old, the "Feminist Baby" book has been my daughter's favorite and we have, I'm not even kidding or exaggerating here, had to read it every single night. She loved the second book, "Feminist Baby is Learning to Talk" and when I saw this one, I knew she would love it. And she does. The wording is simple and catchy, the pictures are bright and appealing to the little ones, and I love the message. I have already bought these books for friends as well and plan to continue to do so.

Cheerful, positive masculinity!

Perfect sequel to the first! I read it to my baby boy all the time (my little girl could recite the first one from memory by 18 months.) It's so hard to find reading materials with positive masculinity for babies, this is a precious part of our library!

So cute!

Such a cute book to help remind my sons that it's okay to cry, have fun, and be strong friends to everyone! The illustrations are simple but effective and the rhyming story is very sweet. A great way to teach (brainwash?) my kids not to be jerks.

Perfect for all babies & parents, too!

We are raising a white male and taking it seriously as he is the future generation- kind, inclusive, and gentle. Our toddler loves this book, and we do too!
