Description

Review “[Karen Marie] Moning’s world-building is extensive and inspired, and she never fails to keep the action fast and the stakes high. . . . The heroes’ shared danger, victory, loss and turmoil translate into emotional intensity and sexual tension.” — The New York Times Book Review “Karen Marie Moning is back, burning up the pages with scorching tension, gasp-out-loud surprises, unshakable danger and unexpected feels. Feverborn is simply impossible to put down. . . . I’m not sure how Moning is able to do it after eight books, but each novel proves more exciting than its predecessor as she continues to raise the stakes in this ongoing, exhilarating saga. Feverborn is a fight between ancient magic and renewed determination, a duel between old wounds and deep-seated love. Once again, you won’t be able to put this book down.” — USA Today “ Feverborn is at once the most gratifying and infuriating (in the best way possible) volume in the series yet. Moning’s proclivity for passion, emotion and shocking twists is showcased in breathtaking clarity. . . . I can damn near guarantee that fans of the series will be panting, both with heat, and a frenzied need to know what happens next.” — PopWrapped “ Feverborn is a masterpiece of epic proportions. With this book, Karen Marie Moning shows us exactly why she is such an indispensable writer in the genre.” —Under the Covers About the Author Karen Marie Moning is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fever series, featuring MacKayla Lane, and the award-winning Highlander series. Features & Highlights

  • NEW YORK TIMES
  • BESTSELLER • In Karen Marie Moning’s latest installment of the epic Fever series, Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada are back—and the stakes have never been higher or the chemistry hotter. Hurtling us into a realm of labyrinthine intrigue and consummate seduction,
  • Feverborn
  • is a riveting tale of ancient evil, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of love.
  • When the immortal Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged, and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making—a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of life itself—can save the planet. But those who seek the mythic song must contend with old wounds and new enemies, passions that burn hot and hunger for vengeance that runs deep. The challenges are many: the Keltar at war with nine immortals who’ve secretly ruled Dublin for eons, Mac and Jada hunted by the masses, the Seelie queen nowhere to be found, and the most powerful Unseelie prince in all creation determined to rule both Fae and Man. Now the task of solving the ancient riddle of the Song of Making falls to a band of deadly warriors divided among—and within—themselves. Once a normal city possessing a touch of ancient magic, Dublin is now a treacherously magical city with only a touch of normal. And on those war-torn streets, Mac will come face-to-face with her most savage enemy yet: herself.

Done

No wrap, heck, not even progress. Thanks for stringing us along with endless descriptions of things that don't matter. This isn't even a complete book, more of a novella. Honestly, I think the author has no idea how things will go and she is just biding her time trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible. I have been a loyal read since the beginning, but I am through. So much nonsense and side trips to nowhere, that I no longer care about these characters. Also, Dani had one book and I thought she was getting her own series, but no. This is just more Mac, endless.

Epicness again!!

Oh my word! This was SO epic and I can't believe it!!
Feverborn was an awesome read and I can't wait for Feversong to come out because I know it'll be even better(though it's hard to believe!).
Karen keeps her trademark story telling way here and I really enjoyed how I got some answers, but than at the end I had more questions than before! This is why I keep coming back to her books again and again and again!
8 books in and I still can't get enough of her world. At the start I wanted to know who and what the Nine were, but throughout the series, and with other character development happening, I'm oddly ok not knowing now. Don't get me wrong, if there is a final reveal I'd be happy about that too, but I take em as they are.

About some characters;
Lor was gut-busting hilarious again! His relationship with Jo went into a new direction(they're still having sex don't worry) and he totally blew my mind!
Jada I never really liked because she had taken Dani away, but Feverborn gets us into Jada's head a little and throughout the book you get an idea of the situation from her perspective which is what everyone needed I think. Everyone was invested in and adored Dani, but we were warned that she had a change coming and to be prepared. There were a lot of people who stopped reading the series( or said they did) at Iced because of Dani being the main character and Ryodan being interested in her. Now it looks likes people are ticked off because of Jada being an adult who doesn't immediately fall into Ryodan's arms because she's old enough to have sex now.
To be honest, I'm enjoying her character a lot more than I thought I would going forward.
Enough about that, cause I could keep going, there was a main group of characters we got to see and then not so much if others. Again, I'm good with that because I know Karen has a reason and if those characters didn't get a big part or any part in Feverborn I don't worry because they'll be back.

In essence(and I might come back and add more later), before the release of Faefever, and before Shadowfever, and again befoee other later titles, we were asked to trust that Karen knew what she was doing with the story. Those of us who've stuck with her know that she continually delivers what she promises. It might not be in this book and it might take until the very last book in the series before things are resolved, but she hasn't let us down!

Anything she writes I will buy, because she's proven herself again and again to me.

Can't wait for Feversong and I look forward to re-reading the series multiple times until then!

I loved, loved

I loved, loved, loved this book! Karen delivers again. Burned was a bit stilted as Karen had to do a lot of plot development in a very short window, but Feverborn really hits the spot. Karen stayed true to her characters. I was speechless at the end. Can't wait for the next one!

I am ready for more

I see that the first few comments I read before starting the book were less than favorable towards FeverBorn. I understand why you feel the way you do but I would like to say a few things about how I perceived this new installment of the fever series. Dani is herself no matter the new name. She has grown and I am happy for that growth. I too believed that Jada and Dani were two different personalities, but I have since come to realize that they are one and the same. Things happened to her silverside and it transformed her like life transforms all of us in time. I'm happy with where she's at and can't wait to read more. Mac and her story will never truly end. Things are still happening that needs to be explored. As for everything else, well, I love that there are storylines that are constantly changing and growing. The fever series has an ending but it won't come hastely. It'll come and the journey will be ours to relive or discard. If you find one novel not to your standards, hang in there and finish the journey. Then write fanfiction to satisfy your cravings for how you want the story to go.

The story just keeps getting better. I thought the dynamics between characters was interesting without being over the top. There were a few characters I wanted to see more of but I'm a long time reader of Karen Marie Moning and I know their time will come. She is a master of foreshadowing and I'm sure I will understand more when I read it again. If you want a nice tidy resolution this isn't the book for you. It is definitely part of series and it is not the last book. Yes there is a big cliffhanger, par for the course with this series.

This book is like the lull before the storm

I seriously cannot understand the negative reviews. This book is like the lull before the storm. You know they are building up to something and can hardly wait for it to happen. It's like when Mac was turned Pri-ya...you sort of knew it might happen, with how it was described and talked about so much. And when it did, you still could not believe KMM would have her heroine, her living Barbie turned into a mindless sex maniac. Who does that?

Having said it's a lull, does not mean it's boring. You have to have some kind of calm after Dani/Jada came back and Dageus was killed in the previous book. I cannot wait for the next book to come out, which will probably be next year, which stinks, but KMM takes her time writing, and we are all used to it and will be waiting with baited breath.

Underwhelmed

I ended the book very underwhelmed. I was looking forward to hearing more of the lesser characters' stories. I loved the battle at the Abbey and I wish there had been more action. My biggest complaint is the inner dialogue Mac has. In the past two books, I found myself skipping over page after page. I don't need to be reminded how indecisive Mac is. I need action...in the bedroom or on the battlefield! Overall, very lackluster attempt. I had high hopes for Lor, Jo, and Ry and Dani/Jada, and Christian. Instead, I got more of Mac's irrelevant, and rather sleep-inducing, internal debates. I will finish the series. However, I'm not counting down the days until the next book, which is a shame because I couldn't wait to get my hands on them in the past!

Awesome job, Karen!

As always, Karen did an amazing job! I couldn't put the book down. Some questions get answered but even more questions pop up... The ending will leave you groaning and dying for the next book! The true signs of a great author! Excellent job!!!
