The only reason I didn't give FLOWER FAIRIES OF THE SUMMER five stars is because I usually skip the poems.

A sweet book that I bought for my little girl for her 6th birthday. She is also a summer baby and loves fairies so she really enjoyed this. She loves reading through the poems and looking at the pictures within. She wants to get the fall and spring ones too!!!

The "Flower Fairies" series of books by Cicely Mary Barker are simply enchanting - the poems are sweet, & the illustrations are detailed and gorgeous. In "Flower Fairies of the Summer", Ms Barker writes poems about the Buttercup Fairy, the Herb Robert Fairy, the Forget-Me-Not Fairy, the Poppy Fairy, the Foxglove Fairy, the Wild Rose Fairy and many more. This series of books is a great way to introduce young children [especially those who love nature and fairies] to verse. I highly recommend all the books in the series.

The summer fairies are highlighted in this book. It should be a required text to go along with the widely available flower fairy quilting fabrics! Cicely Mary Barker was the first and remains the best artist of this type of art! She dressed her models in elaborate costumes, then sketched and painted them. So cute! There is a wide range of genders and ages of the child models. Darling.

My children and I love this book! Cicely Mary Barker was such a talented soul. The pictures are wonderful and the poems are almost musical. A wonderful way to celebrate the "little" things and teach your children about the flowers of the summer.

Beautiful book. Cover is nice quality. Pages are wonderfully illustrated. Four year old daughter loves the fairies. I love that it's a classic and fondly remembered from my own childhood.

Very happy with the picture quality, smaller size of book. I also ordered the complete collection book and am SOO glad I ordered these copies as well-WAY better than the complete collection book in picture quality.

Bought this book as a gift for a true believer in fairies and had a difficult time actually giving it away. The illustrations in this book are absolutely priceless, suitable for framing. The poems for each fairy are charming and easily committed to memory. It's a great book. If you or someone you know loves fairies, this is a must have addition to the collection.
