Disappointed

Bought this set for my son for his birthday since he seemed to have taken an interest in the books. I was very disappointed to find all of the books on the inside were all mixed up with the chapters. Total misprint, scattered about and cannot follow in order of chapters. I would be cautious about this buy even though it sounds and looks aweome it was a disappointing buy for my 2nd grade kiddo.

OK But Not Bumpy

The tin is pretty flimsy and the covers are better than the new ones (which are *terrible*), but the "Goosebumps" part isn't bumpy like the OG books. A slight disappointment for a long-time Goosebumps fan buying the books again for my children to read, but they don't know what they're missing so they don't mind. Overall, I'm happy with this set but I think I'll track the rest of the collection down used.

As an aside, reading these books as an adult is amazing. It's a total nostalgia trip for me, and the books are actually pretty entertaining. I keep texting a fellow Goosebumps aficionado friend choice quotes like "I wanted to punch his lights out. But I try to be a nonviolent person. So I just gave him one hard punch on the shoulder". Overall, super happy with my purchase but the binding could be better / bumpier.

Really? These are terrible

I never read these as a kid, but my children. Love the shows. I thought this would be great.
If I'd known how awful the stories are i never would have bought them.
One story is about a girl bring drowned, another is about a boy who takes revenge after being bullied by EVERY ONE including his parents!
Seriously!? These are kids stories??? TRASH!!!

Hope Scholastic keeps these retro tins coming in the future!

I purchased this item from a local Barnes & Nobles and I’m happy to report that it’s just as good as the last Goosebumps Retro Tin released two years ago. I reviewed the first retro tin collection on Amazon.com and you can check out what I wrote, so I won’t spend too much time reviewing this one, since the quality is about the same. I’m happy with the design of the tin container and the original book covers. I wish the old school Goosebumps “bumps” were included on the covers, but I guess it’s a way for Scholastic to save money.
As for the selection of books, I’m not sure I agree with what was picked. I thought “Monster Blood” and “A Night in Terror Tower” were good choices…those are creepy books. “Why I’m Afraid of Bees”, “The Beast From The East” and “Legend of the Lost Legend”…weird and a bit silly but not that scary.
Here are some titles that Scholastic should think about including in future retro tin releases:
1. The Werewolf of Fever Swamp
2. Piano Lessons Can Be Murder
3. The Ghost Next Door
4. Ghost Beach
5. The Cuckoo Clock of Doom (RL Stine as said this is one of his favorite books in the series)

Great purchase, great price, great quality!

It's hard to get my 10 yr to read but when he does, he really enjoys the Goosebumps books. This collection was great and then tin was awesome. I got more here than what the school book fairs offer and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

Love the tin, Love the classic covers

I grew up reading Goosebumps and Fear Street. Recently I had a bit of a nostalgia kick and decided I wanted to read them again. These are just as good as I remember and once I'm through with them I'll donate them to some library or school for kids to enjoy like I did.
