I don't mind some sexual play but if it is the only reason for a story I am disappointed. I like a little mystery

I did not finish the book due to the graphic sexual content and verbal sexual conversation. I don't mind some sexual play but if it is the only reason for a story I am disappointed. I like a little mystery, some heart felt decisions and a story that a person has become better for the struggle.

Incredibly hot romance and a nice addition to the series

3.5 Stars!

Hold Me, Cowboy was a quick, enjoyable read with an incredibly hot romance and characters looking for a second chance at happiness.

Madison West and Sam McCormack are like night and day and generally try to avoid each other. However when a snowstorm traps them together, the attraction they’ve been ignoring for years finally comes to a head. After a wild night of no-strings sex isn’t enough, they decide to use the twelve days leading up to Christmas to fulfill their needs. But when their twelve days are up, will they be able to walk away?

Madison is used to taking charge in order to get things done, but otherwise strives not to rock the boat and create another scandal. After becoming an outcast in town due to her affair with a married older man when she was 17, Madison is very wary of trusting others. The situation did cause her to grow a thick skin and she's fairly self-reliant as well. I enjoyed watching her open up and learning to trust again.

Sam devotes most of his time to his family and his work (whether that’s on the West ranch or working on his metal art). Outside of his work and his family, there isn’t much else Sam has time for, so we never really find out if there are any other hobbies he enjoys. Sam has a lot of issues when it comes to discussing his art or taking pride in what he does. The issues he has are understandable once you know the circumstances and I enjoyed the journey he went on in this book related to his art.

Madison and Sam had amazing chemistry right from their first scene together. I loved all of their banter and flirting. When things get physical, it’s incredibly hot and those scenes were my favorite part of the book. Unfortunately, the emotional side of their relationship seemed to develop too quickly and I never fully bought into it. Granted, it was still enjoyable to read, I simply liked their physical scenes more as there was better chemistry and less drama.

The characters from other books who show up in this one are mainly from the West books (One Night Charmer, Tough Luck Hero and Last Chance Rebel) as well as Sam’s brother’s story, which was the first Copper Ridge: Desire book (Take Me, Cowboy). As always with the Copper Ridge books, I love all of the cameos the author builds into these books.

Overall, Hold Me, Cowboy was a nice addition to the Copper Ridge universe and I definitely recommend it for fans of the series.

Not my cup of tea

I went back and forth on this book. There were actually a couple of moments where I almost gave up on the book, but eventually decided not to. I wasn’t a huge fan of either character and I never really felt a connection to them. They had a ton of chemistry though, which saved the story for me a bit.

Maddy’s backstory is pretty messed up and there were many times that I found myself angry at the people in her life; especially her family. Everyone makes mistakes, but someone should have stood behind her instead of letting everyone blame her for what happened. Sam’s backstory was just heartbreaking. It made me a bit angry at times too, but I felt so horrible for him and understood why he was so closed off and ill-tempered.

Even though I understood their respective issues, I did cringe a lot when they would talk to each other. It was one of those things that I felt like it was supposed to be sexy aggressive banter, but really it just came off as pretty toxic.

I’ve read another book by Maisey in this series and I kind of had the same thoughts. I’m not sure if I’ll request more by her from Netgalley, but I might check out her other work at a later date on my own.

Sam suggests they agree to an arrangement of twelve days of smoldering sex before Christmas – and in theory it’s a good idea … b

After ten long years of celibacy Madison West has decided to end the dry spell and indulge in a sexual tryst with someone she deems as safe at a vacation cabin. Only things don’t go according to plan and instead of the salesman she’d propositioned, Madison ends up being snowed in, with no power and a suitcase full of lingerie – and no man since the road to the cabin is impassable and Christopher can’t get through. Since her cabin’s freezing she heads over to the next cabin for help and discovers it’s being used by Sam McCormack, a blacksmith/artist she’s verbally sparred with for years. The weekend’s not a total loss, she’s more than willing to substitute one man for the other – only unlike Christopher who was a ‘hit it and quit it’ kind of guy, there’s no question that a weekend isn’t going to be enough for either Madison or Sam. Sam suggests they agree to an arrangement of twelve days of smoldering sex before Christmas – and in theory it’s a good idea … but remaining emotionally detached is impossible. Can they really go their separate ways and pretend nothing ever happened between them?
With witty dialogue, emotional revelations, scorching sexual scenes, and memorable characters HOLD ME, COWBOY is a story that’s sure to charm readers. Sam and Madison have issues in their pasts which have led to them guarding their hearts but somehow they find comfort in sharing their insecurities and concerns with each other. I loved how Madison and Sam seemed to revel in their verbal sparring, it felt more like foreplay than actual fighting, yet there was vulnerability in each of those scenes that bled through to the reader. I genuinely enjoyed revisiting COPPER RIDGE and the characters from previous titles. Don’t worry though if you haven’t read the previous books, they can each be read as stand-alone reads.

I really enjoyed Madison and Sam's story

I really enjoyed Madison and Sam's story. They have a second chance romance that was only going to last 12 days. They both ended up wanting each other for more. They get their HEA.
