Features & Highlights

  • Could there really be such a thing as hell on earth? Odd only knows.
  • #1
  • New York Times
  • bestselling maestro of macabre suspense Dean Koontz plunges everyone’s favorite spirit-spotting fry cook into his most frightening encounter yet, in the thrill-packed third Odd Thomas graphic novel.   Transforming a ramshackle mansion into a dream house has become a nightmare for onetime Hollywood producer Nedra Nolan, whose newly purchased fixer-upper in Pico Mundo has sent a string of spooked contractors scurrying off the job, claiming the place is haunted. Who’s she gonna call? Her friend recommends Odd Thomas, the mild-mannered young man with a gift for communing with ghosts who won’t rest in peace. With his soul mate and sidekick, Stormy Llewellyn, in tow, Odd agrees to investigate the eerie incidents. But his spirit-seeking style is cramped by the obnoxious TV ghost hunters Nedra hires to flush out the troublesome phantoms with elaborate gadgets.   As night falls and a raging storm traps them all in the mazelike manse, Odd tries in vain to scare up some lost souls. But instead, something more terrifying than any apparition—something with flesh, blood, and
  • teeth
  • —makes its sinister presence known. And with nowhere to hide, Odd and his fellow hunters suddenly become the prey.

KOONTZ RULES!!!!

The Odd series is something that I approached cautiously! I was worried that this was going to be where Dean Koontz was going to flop. He came up with a character that is likeable in "Odd". It turned out to be pretty good. I recommend this series to all Koontz fans.

Odd Is King

Ok this book was not exactly what I expected when it says "graphical novel". I figured that it would be graphic in details not be a book that my 11 year old son asked if it was a comic book. With that being said I did thoroughly enjoy knowing that if I get the rest of the "graphic novels" I will have the back story to Odd Thomas. The book ends with an exert from Koontz's Odd Hours to leave you wanting to read not only Odd Hours but his Summer 2012 release Odd Apocalypse. I can not wait!

It was Odd from the start.

This was a fun and engaging prequel to the events of the first Odd Thomas novel. A great introduction to the character, these graphic novels are lighter in tone and scope that the novels, but they are no less interesting. In the graphic novels, we get a view of what came before and the backstory of Odd and Stormy. Great story with manga-esque art make House of Odd a fun and quick one-sitting read for readers who have followed Odd from the start to newbies who stumbled across the title while looking through graphic novel selections.

House of Odd is a must for anyone who's been following the exploits of Odd Thomas and his cohorts, and a great intro for those who are new to the books. Don't miss it!

I love the "Odd" books.

I love all the "Odd" books. I own all of them on the Kindle and in hardback. Dean Koontz, always comes up with great story lines for this character. It is wonderful to have such a "Good" character. I can't hardly wait for the next book.

Graphic Novel

I read all of Koontz"s "Odd" series and was pleased to see 3 new titles on Amazon.
What I didn't realize was that "graphic novel" referred to a comic book format with mostly cartoon type pictures.
I was expecting a regular novel (words). Unless I missed it, I wish Amazon had included a noticeable description or caution of what a "graphic novel" was. I returned the 3 graphic novels (easy procedure) and am wiser but waiting for more "Odd" novels.

wanting more of odd.

I have read the novel type odd books and then ordered the graphic novels by mistake. I didn't care for the graphic novel as well as the regular novel. It made me feel like I was reading an Archie comic book like i did when i was younger. Not as interesting story line. Just different from the Dean Koontz Odd stories I'm use to.

Cartoon?

The book was in great shape but I had no idea it was basically a comic type book . I did not know Dean Koontz did that. :(

Graphic Novel?

I love the Odd Thomas series of books, but this one took me by surprise. My fault - I didn't open it up until I got home to read it and imagine my surprise when I found a comic book! BOO!! It would be nice if the publishers had thought enough of the reader to put IT'S A COMIC BOOK on the front cover. And here I just thought it was a "graphic" (as in "R" Rated) book! Silly, ignorant me. Just sayin'.

Great Kids Comic Book

The "graphic novel" did not catch my eye. These would be grat comic books for young people not adults. A waste of time and money..
