Cute board books for babies/toddlers!

These little iSpy books are so fun for toddlers and babies. They're small enough to hold, they have a cute ltitle rhyme to go with each page aND there's always more to find as they get older. I liked it enough that I'm ordering the bunny one for easter!

Disappointed

Cute book but I received mine damaged, looks like something greasy or oily spilled on some of the pages, the pages are discolored, looks like a used book, very disappointed.

Very basic book.

This books is pretty basic, I bought it for my 6 year old not realizing it was more of a baby book. It looks as though the pictures etc were originally done in 90's as it's a bit dated looking. We decided to switch it up at bedtime with this book and change the title to 'I spy little farts'. Much more fun!

book review

{My thoughts} – Valentine's Day is fast approaching. As a parent I am always on the look out for books that revolve around the holidays so that my children can learn and read more things. The I Spy Book Series is incredible in my opinion.

This Valentine's Day book is filled with rhymes and pictures of various objects. The pictures of various objects go together with the rhymes. You read the rhyme on one page and then you find the objects mentioned in it on the next page. There is so much that can be learned by reading through these books.

There is so much to be learned with this books. The various objects in the pictures are helpful in teaching children word association. After you are through finding the objects in the rhymes you can look through the pictures and point out other objects that you may want your child to find. Hopefully your child will repeat the objects back to you and help work on increasing their vocabulary.

I recommend this book for any parent looking for a fun book/activity for their child to share with them. There is so much to be learned by reading these books with your child.

Cute Valentine Gift for Little One

Cute book with interesting pictures. Our toddler is still learning how the I Spy concept works, but he enjoys the pictures. I look forward to when he catches on to finding the hear objects within the pages. We gave it to him as a Valentine gift. He really enjoys this book!

Great for the car

We gave this to our daughter for Valentine's Day and she was 34 months old at the time. The I Spy concept was new to her and VERY engaging. She quickly got the idea and was quite proud of herself when she'd find the requested items. She is now 3 years 4 months old and she goes through this book as fast as I could, so suffice it to say it is no longer challenging. However, for the same reason that kids enjoy watching movies repeatedly, or hearing books repeatedly*, she still pulls this book out over and over. It's the security she gets from predictability and the pride she feels in solving the puzzle that keeps her coming back. The only downside is that the Little book doesn't tie her up for long unless I get creative. I try to spy new things on each page each time. (Gets harder the longer you have the book since the photos include a finite number of objects.) Sometimes I turn the book upside down and we do it that way.

While my daughter has now moved to the large-format I Spy books at home, I am getting ready to buy 3 or 4 of these smaller ones to keep in the car. The size and format are IDEAL for car trips because a.) Daughter can manage the book by herself in her carseat and b.) the left-hand page has pictures of the items you must find on the right-hand page. (Two per page.) ***No reading necessary!*** It is one of the few books she can complete without my help. (The large format--and more advanced--I Spy books are unwieldy in the car and the items to find must be read out in the rhymes.)

The book is small and the photos are cropped out from his photos in the large-format I Spy books. We just checked out a few large-format from the library and we recognized many of the pages but you search for different things so it doesn't seem to matter.

One review complained that the photos feature some things that couldn't be explained to a toddler. (A cake-topper was the example given.) Yes, some of the items in the book are esoteric and you might struggle to explain them to a toddler with limited experience in the world. But don't we expose them to books to increase their knowledge base? We have great conversations based on the doors these pictures open.

Highly recommend.

*The pnenomenom is well documented but for an engaging read try the chapter Malcolm Gladwell devotes to it in The Tipping Point. (The whole book is pretty fab.)

Great board book!

My 2 year old son loves this book! We got it before Valentine's day - but it's also great for anytime as it doesn't have a Valentine theme.
