For fans of
Outlander, New York Times
bestselling author Lynsay Sands’ newest installment of the Highland Brides series brings us a sweeping tale of passion as a laird’s swim in a loch leads to the love of a lifetime.
An invigorating swim in the loch was exactly what Calan Campbell, Laird of Kilcairn, needed after defeating his enemies in battle. What he didn’t need was a thief running away with his plaid while he swam. Calan gave chase and managed to catch the lad, only the lad turned out to be a lass, and obviously a lady. Having hit her head when he’d tackled her to the ground, the woman was now unconscious and couldn’t explain how she had ended up bruised and naked in his woods. He’d have to take her back to his castle and tend her wounds to learn that.
Kidnapped and forced to wed her clan’s enemy, Allissaid MacFarlane had risked death to escape. But after a struggle over a plaid she tried to “borrow,” she awakens in a strange bed with a strange man seated in a chair beside her. Unsure if he is friend or foe, she claims not to remember her own name or how she’d come to be in the clearing. However, the more time she spends with Calan, the more she falls for this strong, honorable laird. She soon decides she can trust him with her life. . . but can she trust him with her heart?

Love Highlanders
Love Highlanders and Lynsay Sands always brings them to life. Here we meet Alissaid, who escaped from a kidnapper who tried to force marriage, and Calan, Laird of his clan, who found her soon after her escape. Calan was recovering from a previous injury and Alissaid was injured by her kidnapper and escape. Calan, certain that she is running from something, keeps here presence in the castle a secret. Alissaid, not sure who rescued her, fakes amnesia. Follow them as they learn to trust one another, fall in love, and try to uncover a spy who kept the enemy one step ahead. I couldn’t put this one down and read it in one night.
Another great Highlander story by Ms. Sands.

A good slow burn love story.
I really enjoyed this one, which for how many are in the series it still comes as a surprise sometimes about how good they are.
This story picks up right where Highland Wolf ended basically, which makes this series a great binge series if you want some outstanding reads. I so excited to see some of the tie in with the Buchanan's from earlier in the series. As soon as I was done reading this one I went back and started on a couple of their stories. Allisaid is a witty, strong character who doesn't push the reader away. You understand why her walls are their and why she is protecting herself. Calan is as cinnamony roll as you can get for a highlander, and he is wonderful to Allisaid and his whole family.

Highlander Romance
Fun and Formulaic is Sands band when it comes to her Highlander romances, and I am always on board of the ride! In Her Highlander's Bed is the eleventh installment in her Highlander's Brides series. I always know when I pick up a Lynsay Sands' book that I will swept away on a fast paced, insta-love ride, with a smattering of a mystery at the end. Sands' writing is quickly engaging, has an element of quirkiness and hyperbole the plays well with her melodramatic tone. This book is entertainment at its base form and it is exactly what I want out of Sands' Highlander romances.
After a failed kidnapping from a foe clan, our Heroine finds herself in the midst of a stranger and claims to not know her name in order to protect herself and her identity from those she does not trust yet. This novel does have some off page abuse that is done to the heroine, so be aware of that. This novel, out of some of Sands' more recent, has less of an over dramatic and quirky feel, which was alright with me and gave some of the situations a bit more of a feeling rooted in realism. I always really enjoy and find delight in the sweet and quick romances of Sands' Highlander novels. The hero is immediately protective of the heroine, is attracted by her and throughout the novel learns to find her true value. I always enjoy that the heroine is also instantly attracted to the hero, notices his protectiveness and sees past his hardness to the soft and emotional man he can be.
This novel is softly enjoyable, and any lover of Lynsay Sands' will find delight and joy with in. This novel is heavy with care taking (a favorite trope of mine), softness and charm. I really enjoyed a fake amnesia trope, as our heroine is learning to trust the people who have helped to rescue her. I adored our cinnamon roll of a hero and heroine together, they are both so sweet. Sands' also does a lovely job with all of the side characters throughout this novel, they are fun and entertaining. And there are some really lovely and gentle moments of relationship building that make this romance endearing.
I would definitely recommend this book and series from Sands, it can be read as stand-alones, but it is a true delight read in order as there are some interconnections.

A Bedside Romance
In Her Highlander’s Bed is the 11th installment of the Highland Brides series, the 9th of the series to feature a member of the Buchanan family, and the 2nd where the heroine is a Buchanan cousin. Like all the books in the series thus far, there’s action, plenty of steam, and awe-inspiring romance with sexy Highlanders that are utterly loyal and absolutely fierce in both wooing and protecting their women. I could not put down Allissaid’s story—which takes place during the same time as the previous installment in the series, Highland Wolf, which was her elder sister Claray’s story—and I loved that Calan was a Campbell, and cousin to Cam from earlier in the series.
Readers who enjoyed Highlander’s Promise will definitely enjoy the premise of In Her Highlander’s Bed, where Calan comes across Allissaid in distress and carries her home unconscious. And though Allissaid doesn’t wake without her memories as Jetta did, Calan and his sister believe that she does. Which creates an interesting tension, with Calan doing his best to care for her in secret to save her reputation, and Allissaid trying to determine if he and his clan are friend or foe so she knows whether to ask for their help to save her family from the monster who kidnapped her and has nefarious plans for them all.
I remain thoroughly hooked on this series, and on Lynsay’s writing in general. And she writes a fantastic Highlander hero. Plus, I love seeing the extended Buchanan family grow and interact with each other. Looking forward to seeing what comes next for this family and series, whether that’s more of the MacFarlane cousins, Alick’s story (which is strongly hinted at in In Her Highlander’s Bed), or the MacKay children, or even exploring the next generation of the Buchanans!

slow burn where the hero falls first
In Her Highlander's bed is part of Lynsay Sands Highland Brides series. This was my first experience reading a book by Sands and I did find I was missing out on a previous storyline. Sands did a good job explaining the complicated backstory but it felt like a lot of information being thrown at you in the first few chapters. This book is a slow burn with our hero, Calan, falling pretty quickly. This book focused mostly on character development and not as much on a mystery/suspense plot. The "villians" were pretty obvious from the beginning.
Calan is taking a dip in the loch when he spies a thief taking off with his plaid. He knocks over the thief to find it a naked and bruised lady. He (with the help of his cousin, mother, and sister) nurses Allissaid back to health and vows to keep her safe until they can catch the person to did this to her. I really enjoy books where the hero and heroine are forced to spend almost all their time on page together. The sick bed trope takes up the majority of book. It started to feel slightly repetitious. I really liked Calan. He was sweet and protective without being overbearing.; a real highlander cinnamon roll. The scene where he takes her to the loch to ease her pain was perfection. Allissaid was strong and loyal. It did drive me a bit crazy that she wouldn't stay put. I enjoyed seeing Allissaid interact with Calan's mother. It was a nice touch that she knew her as a small girl and added a layer of family that I look for in highlander books.
This book was a sweet well balanced romance. I would definitely be interested in reading more of Sands Highland Brides series. I read an eARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

HIghlanders are my favorite
I love all the historical romances I've read by Lynsay Sands, but her Highlanders just hit me in a different way. I'm always left with a smile on my face, and that warm fuzzy feeling where I can actually feel the happiness trying to bust out.
.
In this story, Allisade is kidnapped and beaten by a very bad man. She escapes and finds herself tackled by Calan our Highlander when he catches her stealing his plaid while bathing in a loch. Of course, he thought the person running naked stealing his stuff was a young man... not a horribly abused young woman.... who also appears to be a lady. Not knowing who she is or what kind of trouble she's in he decides to, with the help of his cousin sneak her into his keep and into his bedroom so he can tend her wounds and keep her safe. They slowly get to know each other and their feelings grow, the first and most important one is that she feels safe with him. Of course, the bad man comes a calling, and we get a nice swordfight, and everyone lives happily ever after!..... We knew that was coming lol....
.
Also, we get a little snippet of the next book releasing in May, and it's so good! I already can't wait to read it!

Wonderful!!
Part of the Highland Brides series. Although the prologue gives a lot of background, to enjoy the story fully, I recommend reading other books in this series.
As Calan is swimming after a raid, he spots a young boy stealing his plaid. Giving chase, he tackles the boy unconscious and discovers he is actually an injured female. He brings her back to his home, but doesn't want to tell too many of his family until he has more information.
Allissaid awakens with her memories of her ordeal intact, but feigns amnesia while she assesses the situation. She doesn't know if Calan's clan are allies with her abductor. Soon she realizes Calan's mother was a friend of her own mother and quickly tells them about the plot behind her ordeal. With Calan going into full protective mode, will he be able to keep Allissaid safe?

Great story!
Love it! Grabs you from the start. What more can you ask for, damsel in distress, handsome Highlander to her rescue, evil Lord to catch. Allissaid MacFarlane is now is charge of helping her father run the castle since her older sister is now married. The family is still under a threat from Lord MacNaughton and her father has decreed the the family stays within the castle walls, but when she is told her little brother snuck out, she sneaks out to find him so that he will not get in trouble. Only to be captured by MacNaughton .
Calan Campbell, Laird of Kilcairn is disobeying his mother’s wishes that he be on bed rest. Still recovering from an arrow to his chest doesn’t stop him from being on patrol with his cousin. Sending him ahead so Calan can take a quick swim in in Loch, but once in the water he sees a lad taking off with his plaid. Quickly giving chase he tackles the lad only to realize it is a woman, a very badly beaten up woman. Taking her to his castle to give shelter and medical attention. Noticing the fine ring on her finger only can mean she is a Lady and now must hide her to also save her reputation. Who is she and who had so badly abused her?
Oh my! Have I been missing out. First I have read of Lynsey Sands and usually I don’t start a series that I haven’t read the previous books. This is the 11th in the series and can be read as a standalone, but now I do need to read the previous books. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #InHerHighlandersBed
