What a lovely story about empathy and being a good friend! Zebra and Giraffe are adorable and relatable characters that children will love. The author's notes in the back about feelings like worry and ways to help an anxious friend will be wonderful additions for parents, teachers, and counselors. The illustrations are delightful! Great book for helping kids understand feelings!

This adorable social emotional book about taking risks and discovering your talents.
Zebra reminded Giraffe "You're bigger..., You're stronger...., You're faster..." and continued to help Giraffe overcome fears. This book is a must for kindergarten teachers to read aloud.

A Heartwarming Story of Empathy and Kindness

Giraffe is very afraid . . . of a tiny spider. So naturally, he hides in a tree. Giraffe's friend Zebra listens, talks through Giraffe's fears, and waits patiently. Finally, even though Giraffe is still nervous, " . . . his heart told him it was time" and Giraffe climbs down. Giraffe quickly discovers he's not the only one that feels afraid sometimes. This heartwarming story reminds readers that we all can get a little anxious at times and having someone by our side can make all the difference.

Empathy and Friendship

"It Will Be OK" is a heart-warming story about friendship and empathy.

Each afternoon Giraffe and Zebra head down to the watering hole together, but today Giraffe will have to tell Zebra he can't go. He can't make it down the tree.

Zebra comes along to meet his friend, but Giraffe is nowhere to be seen. After looking this way and that, he finally hears his friend and looks up, up, up! Giraffe is in the tree.

"What are you doing?" Zebra asked.
"I saw a spider," Giraffe whispered.

Zebra tries to reason with Giraffe reassuring him that he is bigger, stronger, faster than the tiny spider, but Giraffe won't budge, so Zebra waits and waits until the sun dipped down from the sky. Giraffe can't see the spider anywhere and believes it is time to climb down. Once on the ground, the spider is spotted! Giraffe doesn't run or rush back up the tree. He feels braver with his friend Zebra beside him!

This story reminds me of "The Rabbit Listened" because Zebra is a patient and kind friend. He doesn't tease Giraffe for his fears and he sits and waits with him until his fears pass. Both of these books help teach children how to have empathy.
