Killer Image (An Allison Campbell Mystery)

Killer Image is a fast paced, complex book about an image consultant cum reluctant detective, Allison Campbell, who is pulled into a complicated situation that she can't fix by using her savoir faire and panache to make "look good" as she can with her clients' images. Tyson's debut novel is dark and mysterious without being overly gruesome and injects just enough humor to counterbalance the material. While I understand a dark murder mystery is not everyone's favorite genre, I think it is always important to review a book based on its written quality and not on one's personal biases. But biased I am, I guess, because I loved it!

Sorry Ms. Tyson, but this book was just not my cup of tea. I think that this book was a bit too hardcore, maybe I misunderstood when I thought I requested a cozy mystery. Although I wasn't crazy about this book, I'm sure that readers who like things a bit edgier, will love it.
I was very confused when we are introduced to 11 people within the first 2 chapters. Trying to keep track of all of them, and then bringing more people in, this reader felt the need for a score card!
I have always said that I never met a book I didn't like, but sadly, I can't say that anymore.

I was looking for a good mystery, and I found a great mystery!!! Love this book..I was hooked from page 1 and I am sad that I have finished it! I should have limited myself to only 2 chaperts a day! But it was to hard to put down. I hope that Ms Tyson is at her desk wrighting another novel so I can have it by Xmas .

Killer Image is the debut novel by Wendy Tyson. I thought her murder mystery was extremely well written and I loved her detailed character descriptions. She makes it so easy for you to visualize each character. This book was a real page turner for me and kept me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading more novels by this talented author.

I was a little apprehensive about reading this novel. So many of the last few mystery/psychological thrillers seem to have the same dull and predictable plot and outcome that they become tedious to even read through anymore. Wendy's book was the opposite of that experience. It was engaging, thought provoking, keep you on the edge of your seat, cannot put the book down good. A true psychological thriller that kept you guessing all the way till the end.It was fast paced with enough twists and turns that kept you wanting more without becoming unrealistic and boring.Alot of books I read fall short on really defining and giving life to their secondary characters, but Wendy did a fabulous job giving them enough detail and really breathing life into them. It's hard to believe this is her first novel. I cannot wait to see what this author does next.

As a Philadelphia girl I loved KILLER IMAGE, a tale of mysteries flowing through the blue blood of the Main Line. Tyson's debut novel is stellar in its dark and twisting way--although elevated by just enough humor to balance it. Throw in a bit of romance too and it makes for quite a fascinating read! From image consultant to amateur sleuth, Allison Campbell almost gets in over her head, which was where I found myself on the edge of my seat, sweating bullets for her. And yet, more surprises were around the next corner. Can't wait for Tyson's next novel!

Yo folks - This book (1) is fast-paced; (2) keeps you guessing; (3) pulls at a few heartstrings; and (4) is freaking awesome. Seriously. When I started this book I was a brand-new mom. Let's be honest, I could barely keep one eye open whenever the day came that I found time for a shower. But, that all changed when I found Killer Image. I literally read it in 3 days - at times reading it out loud so my newborn wouldn't start screaming. And, it worked! He didn't scream and I got through a refreshing read! You will enjoy this!

If you're become tired of reading the same authors who follow the same format with each novel, then you are in for a treat. Introducing author Wendy Tyson and the first in what I hope will be a successful series of Alison Campbell mysteries. Alison is an image consultant for the elite Main Line of Philadelphia, but her past was far from elitist. Killer Image is filled with plot twists and excellent character development. The storyline from Alison's past that ties into her present is written with sensitivity and great insight. In a genre that has become stale and repetitive, Killer Image is a breath of fresh air!

What an amazing debut for Wendy Tyson! Characters are vivid and realistic...Ms. Tyson's descriptions bring them to life. This book kept my interest and I found myself stealing moments to read whenever I could (no different than my experience when I read seasoned authors such as Jonathan Kellerman). However, I was so disappointed when I finished the book because now I have to find something else to read until Ms. Tyson's next release. I anxiously await more Allison Campbell mysteries.
