The author reads her book- makes all the difference.

Lady Glenconnor at 87 years old reads this book in the audio version. Though it is already an excellent memoir, hearing the author speak of her life is an incredible experience. It makes you feel the book and the author's experience. I know aristocrats of this time period are often looked down upon and it is sad to think of all the money wasted by this family and many others of this social set. But she is a human being and one who has had a unique experience. Lady Glenconnor is a national treasure- a person who lived through WW II and beyond and speaks candidly of life, but not in a gossipy tabloid type manner.
