  • --Kristin Hannah, #1
  • New York Times
  • bestselling author of
  • The Nightingale
  • Chicago, 1944.
  • Liz Stephens has little interest in attending a USO club dance with her friends Betty and Julia. She doesn't need a flirtation with a lonely serviceman when she's set to marry her childhood sweetheart. Yet something happens the moment Liz glimpses Morgan McClain. They share only a brief exchange--cut short by the soldier's evident interest in Betty--but Liz can't forget him. Thus, when Betty asks her to ghostwrite a letter to Morgan, stationed overseas, Liz reluctantly agrees.   Thousands of miles away, Morgan struggles to adjust to the brutality of war. His letters from "Betty" are a comfort, their soul-baring correspondence a revelation to them both. While Liz is torn by her feelings for a man who doesn't know her true identity, Betty and Julia each become immersed in their own romantic entanglements. And as the war draws to a close, all three will face heart-wrenching choices, painful losses, and the bittersweet joy of new beginnings.   Beautifully rendered and deeply moving,
  • Letters from Home
  • is a story of hope and connection, of sacrifices made in love and war--and the chance encounters that change us forever.

A good read.

I enjoyed the book, that being said, it is not my favorite of the ones I have read but not my least favorite either.

slow and dull start -- took off 2/3 of the way through

I had no connection to the characters or what was happening to them until quite a way through. The end -- the "Ta Da" happens within a page tying up or forgetting all the loose ends -- not well written or given the attention that the letters themselves got. Made you wonder if these people can coexist "off the page of the letters". Her other books are far better.

A heartwarming WWII love story💗

Heartwarming WWII love story as seen through the eyes of three women and their letters to servicemen. Lives torn apart and lives brought together during uncertain times. This book puts you personally into their lives and brings a deeper understanding of the war on the home front. Highly recommend⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great tribute to an era that should not be forgotten

I look forward to reading more of Kristina McMorris's novels. I only wish I could write a review that 'moves' as much as the story. Kristina worked the characters hard to get to a happy ending

This book was like watching a really good WWII movie of an era quickly fading from our minds.

This period in history has always been so romantic. Odd to say because it was about WWII but it always has been portrayed I suppose in novels and the movies to be full of great stories of love, loss and human emotion. This book does not fail to deliver in all three areas. Reading it was like watching a great movie of that era. It truly is a chic book but with all the emotion any wartime love story should have. My regret is that I was waiting for more to happen with these three friends.....I guess I just didn’t want it to end. I suppose I’ll just have to search for another iconic story I can’t put down until finished. Thank you for allowing me to get lost in good clean romantic reading.

Kristina McMorris is the best!

I am an avid reader and can usually finish a 400 page book in 2 days. Discovered Kristina McMorris by accident when a friend gave me one of her books. Now have read all 4 currently in print and cannot wait for the next to come out.
