But at the Bar C, he’s doing work that means something, and he’s training to be a professional paramedic. That’s enough to concentrate on, until Tara comes to share his place at the ranch. The shadows in her eyes are darker than simply memories of war, and every moment he spends with her opens up parts of himself he’d thought long dead. But as Tara’s troubled past threatens the present, it will take trust in each other to fight for a future together…

Not up to previous stories in the series, disappointed

My wife read this book and here is her review - I have really enjoyed this series until this point. I felt that the author had a certain word count and was just going to repeat herself until she got there. The story line and the relationship between Tara and Harper was not developed at all. And Ms. McKenna just repeated the fact that they had PTSD over and over as if the reader was actually forgetting this. And every time she mentioned Tara getting help for her anxiety, it was a lengthy explanation of the doctor and the prescription name and so many details instead of a simple the prescription is really helping me. I just felt that the story was a forced addition to the series, which is too bad. I had really been looking forward to this release.

This was a pretty good book. I really liked both main characters. I liked how their story was about them healing each other. I really enjoy this author’s books and this one fit in right along with the others. I recommend.

A New Way to a Happy Ending

McKenna presents a new twist on the classic romance. She sets her story on a ranch run by vets with PTSD. Not only do the characters have to deal with the ordinary trials of budding romance but with the after effects of war on our courageous men and women. Of course there are plot twists that keep you wanting to read on to that final happy ending. It is an enjoyable read
