Superb!

An excellent start to an enthralling (but not very well known) fantasy series. This book features a rather unusual magic system and is filled with fun characters, elements of mystery, and an expansive fantasy land. As is often the case, the first book introduces the world and the characters and so is a little bit slower, but patience is worth it as this series definitely picks up as it moves along.

If you are looking for a thoughtful fantasy tale that's different from your standard fare and without any of the "gritty reality" nonsense found in some of today's more well known fantasy books, look no further.
