Un Expected!!

I bought the part 1 on a whim,(true story, actually let the cashier at Walmart chose between this one and another)..Well, after i begin reading I was surprised by the twists and turns right from the beginning. Ok, as I am not one for skipping pages and all but I just couldnt wait to find out..I had my suspisions..But after reading all the pages I still didnt find out..WHOA!! Now Im mad..Look on amazon to see if there is a part 2..and oh boy yea!! Ok now on with the story..Part 2 is def better than 1 but they are meant to be read together.. BF says how you read that book in one day (part2) man its that good.Just had to see..So claps and cookies for the author, whom I had never read before. You have another fan..just went and ordered more of your earlier works just to see if you are just that good.. I will let you know.. BTW, I want to tell the world about the Mistress series but i dont want to let anyone borrow( never return) mine...

If it wont water down the story, there should be a part 3..just to see if the ladies regain their lives..

Worth the wait but....

I rated this book four stars because although it was worth the wait and very well written, i.e Aria's character, there was just too many unanswered questions at the end of the book. Without giving anything away I knew who the cheating husband was since the first book, I just wish that the author had Jessa Bell playing a bigger part in the book. At the end of Message from a Mistress you would assume that Jessa Bell would play a big part in the sequel causing all type of trouble, when in fact she was more apart of the first book than the second. There were random parts of the story that had me shaking my head because it was irrelevant unless she will do a spin off book with the characters, but I will say that that the author did a wonderful job expressing each woman's emotions, I really felt bad for Renee. After all is said and done if you read the first one you HAVE to read the sequel. It was worth the 15 dollars and express shipping :) I cant really say too much because it will give stuff away and I hate that, but TRUST was everyone's Achilles heel in this book.

Not what I was expecting....

Mistress No More is the follow up to Message from a Mistress by bestselling author Niobia Bryant. In Message from a Mistress Jessa Bell sent a text to her three best friends saying she had been secretly having an affair with one of their husbands. To make matters worse she refused to say which one it was which left the three best friends questioning the marriages they spent so many years trying to make work. Message from a Mistress was such a good book that my fingers were itching and burning to get my hands on Mistress No More. Unfortunately it wasn't what I was expecting. Now that's not to say that the book wasn't well written. It was very well written and read as if you were watching a movie on TV, but it didn't give me the thrill and the joyride that Message from a Mistress did. In Mistress No More it's finally revealed the husband Jessa was having the affair with and I must say it was anti climatic. That was the husband that I figured it would be simply because of the a-hole he was to his wife and I was hoping Ms. Bryant wouldn't make it that obvious. Renee's story line left me confused. She found out something about her son that really had no place in the book at least not at the time. I was really confused about if her husband had any feelings for the woman he'd cheated on Renee with. She was shown in the book while she was pregnant, but while Renee's husband said it was over between him and Inga, some things just didn't add up. Jaime's story line could have had more drama. To me Jaime and Pleasure's storyline was null. Now Aria and Kingston's storyline made for good reading. I loved the way their story played out on the pages. Over all the book was a good read but it wasn't the page turner part one was which can be expected in sequels. I'm hoping there's a part three so some of the unanswered questions can be answered. Ms. Bryant is still one of my favorite authors and I look forward to reading more of her work. I give this book 3 ½ stars.

Some things answered...some things not

I thought this book was an okay read. The only real storyline I was invested in was Aria and Kingston. I was glad we finally found out who the cheating husband was but it felt a little "ok, so what". The friendships between Aria, Jamie, and Renee were very distant which was the opposite of their connection in the first book. I still find myself a little curious about Jackson's affair and what specifically led him astray. Was Inga the receptionist that hung up on Renee or not? I thought it was funny how each woman would have sex with the person they are suspecting or mad at and then go right back to being mad. Each of them. I just wanted at least one of them to stand their ground and mean it. I do feel like Jessa got what she deserved but I didn't get why she moved back to the neighborhood to begin with. Curious to see how her continues.
