I thought Mikel didn’t excellent job in describing the relationship between the TBI Emory and the PI Jeff!
It was time to see a good solid male
relationship in a mystery novel and a outstanding story and great ending! Looking forward to hopefully reading more about Jeff and Emory on their next crime solving case together real soon!

A classic whodunit

Murder on the Lake of Fire is definitely one of those page-turning mysteries that keeps you guessing all along the way. The author does a great job developing his characters and settings and bringing them to life for the reader. At times you feel like you're right there with Emory through the twists and turns of his investigation. Fans of the genre will not be disappointed! I'm already looking forward to what's next for Team Mourning Dove.

I couldn't wait to read Murder on the Lake of Fire, and once I began, I couldn't put it down. I was hooked from p. 1 and read it--cover to cover--in one evening. (Well, early into the next morning!)

Emory Rome, the protagonist, has already been through so much in such a short lifetime, but even he has more to learn about himself and the strength of character that he'll call upon. It's as much of a journey for Rome as it is for the reader, and every character--both good and bad (and there are plenty of BAD)-- is developed with such depth and clarity. Oh. And what an ending! It's a definite nail biter, and I can't wait to see where Rome's journey takes him next.

Must read, suspenseful page turner!

Murder on the Lake of Fire is a gripping story of intrigue, mystery and murder. Tormented special agent, Emory Rome, is sent on an investigation that is equal parts self-discovery and nail-biting suspense. Wilson's writing is pure poetry. A page turning, must read book!

Good 1st book LGBTQ

Good book. I enjoyed the flow and the character development. For some odd reason I really didn’t care to figure out who done it I was just happy with how the story unfolded. there were a couple of taboo instances in the book with the father son relationship which was different but I like how it caught me off guard. I also enjoy the relatable topics of trying not to be distracted by love and be great at your career while being a gay man.

Great Series Start

Murder on the Lake of Fire is a murder mystery that's thrilling without going into too much gory and graphic detail. The characters have a lot of development and depth and I definitely would like to see where the future takes them. Mikel J. Wilson is a fantastic writer and the storyline carried itself. The book moves along at a good pace and important details aren't missed nor obvious. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Mystery, thrills, humor, and MM romance make this first book in the series unique and interesting for the genre. You'll definitely be surprised right up to the very end.

A calculated and surprising mystery novel

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Murder on the Lake of Fire”. In all honesty I wasn’t sure where the author was going with the first chapter and introduction of a murder that, at the time, seemed implausible but when the other chapters and plot unfolded it was actually a clever idea. There were a lot of twists and turns along the way that kept you guessing and second guessing, at times a little too many, but in the end the story and motives were brought to a surprising and calculated close. It’s too bad that some reviewers granted the book only 2 stars because of their obvious bias and homophobia. It’s 2018 and sad to see that people still can’t accept the diversity and beauty of life and cast away a good story for the sexual orientation of the characters. Some reviewers also noted that some of the story lines and characters weren’t fully revealed but it’s the first of a series so obviously the author has to keep readers guessing in anticipation of the next book. With that, I’m looking forward to the next book in what I hope will be a great mystery series.

A Real Who Done It.

The first few pages suck you into this book. It then develops a mystery that keeps shift changing throughout the book. At the end, you say, oh, oh and it ends.
