The mutated cells in my body bounced around as if they were trying to claw their way through my skin. Maybe they were. It felt like I was splayed wide open. There was a wetness gathering on my cheeks. They were tears, I realized slowly. Tears of pain and anger—a fury so potent it tasted like blood in the back of my throat. Or maybe it really was blood. Maybe I was drowning in my own blood. My memories after the doors had sealed shut were hazy. Daemon's parting words haunted every waking moment. I love you, Kat. Always have. Always will. There had been a hissing sound as the doors closed, and I'd been left alone with the Arum. I think they tried to eat me. Everything had gone black, and I'd woken up in this world where it hurt to breathe. Remembering his voice, his words, soothed some of the torment. But then I remembered Blake's parting smile as he held the opal necklace—my opal necklace; the one Daemon had given me just before the sirens went off and the doors started coming down—and my anger flared. I'd been captured, and I didn't know if Daemon had made it out along with the rest of them. I didn't know anything. Forcing my eyes open, I blinked at the harsh lights shining down on me. For a moment, I couldn't see around their bright glow. Everything had an aura. But finally it cleared, and I saw a white ceiling behind the lights. "Good. You're awake." In spite of the pulsating burning, my body locked up at the sound of the unfamiliar male voice. I tried to look toward the source, but pain shot down my body, curling my toes. I couldn't move my neck, my arms, or my legs. Icy horror drenched my veins. Onyx bands were around my neck, my wrists, my ankles, holding me down. Panic erupted, seizing the air in my lungs. I thought about the bruises Dawson had seen around Beth's neck. A shudder of revulsion and fear rocked through me. The sound of footsteps neared, and a face, cocked sideways, came into view, blocking the light. It was an older man, maybe in his late forties, with dark hair sprinkled with gray buzzed close to the scalp. He wore a military uniform in dark green. There were three rows of colorful buttons above the left breast and a winged eagle on the right. Even in my pain- clouded mind and confusion, I knew this guy was important. "How are you feeling?" he asked in a level voice. I blinked slowly, wondering if this man was being serious. "Everything ... everything hurts," I croaked. "It's the bands, but I think you know that." He motioned to something or someone behind him. "We had to take certain precautions when we transported you." Transported me? My heart rate kicked up as I stared at him. Where in the hell was I? Was I still at Mount Weather? "My name is Sergeant Jason Dasher. I'm going to release you so we can talk and you can be looked over. Do you see the dark dots in the ceiling?" he asked. My gaze followed his, and then I saw the almost invisible blotches. "It's a blend of onyx and diamond. You know what the onyx does, and if you fight us, this room will fill up with it. Whatever resistance you've built won't help you here." The whole room? At Mount Weather, it had just been a puff in the face. Not an endless stream of it. "Did you know diamonds have the highest index of light refraction? While it does not have the same painful effects of onyx, in large enough quantities, and when onyx is in use, it has the ability to drain Luxen, leaving them unable to draw from the Source. It will have the same effect on you." Good to know. "The room is outfitted with onyx as a security precaution," he continued, his dark brown eyes focused on mine again. "In case you somehow are able to tap into the Source or attack any member of my staff. With hybrids, we never know the extent of your abilities." Right now I didn't think I'd be able to sit up without assistance, let alone go ninja on anyone. "Do you understand?" His chin lifted as he waited. "We don't want to hurt you, but we will neutralize you if you pose a threat. Do you understand, Katy?" I didn't want to answer, but I also wanted out of the damn onyx bands. "Yes." "Good." He smiled, but it was practiced and not very friendly. "We don't want you to be in pain. That is not what Daedalus is about. And it is far from what we are. You may not believe that right now, but we hope you will come to understand what we are about. The truth behind who we are and who the Luxen are." "Kind of hard to ... believe right now." Sergeant Dasher seemed to take that for what it was worth, and then he reached down somewhere under the cold table. There was a loud click, and the bands lifted on their own, sliding off my neck and ankles. Letting out a shaky breath, I slowly lifted my trembling arm. Entire parts of my body felt either numb or hypersensitive. He placed a hand on my arm, and I flinched. "I'm not going to hurt you," he said. "I'm just going to help you sit up." Given that I didn't have much control over my shaking limbs, I wasn't in any condition to protest. The sergeant had me upright in a few seconds. I clutched the edges of the table to keep myself steady as I took in several breaths. My head hung from my neck like a wet noodle, and my hair slid over my shoulders, shielding the room for a moment. "You'll probably be a little dizzy. That should pass." When I lifted my head, I saw a short, balding man dressed in a white lab coat standing by a door that was such a shiny black it reflected the room. He held a paper cup in his hand and what looked like a manual pressure cuff in the other. Slowly, my eyes traveled over the room. It reminded me of a weird doctor's office, outfitted with tiny tables with instruments on them, cabinets, and black hoses hooked to the wall. When motioned forward by the sergeant, the man in the lab coat approached the table and carefully held the cup to my mouth. I drank greedily. The coolness soothed the rawness in my throat, but I drank too fast and ended up with a coughing fit that was both loud and painful. "I'm Dr. Roth, one of the physicians at the base." He put the cup aside and reached into his jacket, pulling out a stethoscope. "I'm just going to listen to your heart, okay? And then I'm going to take your blood pressure." I jumped a little when he pressed the cold chest piece against my skin. He then placed it on my back. "Take a nice deep breath." When I did, he repeated his instructions. "Good. Extend your arm out." I did and immediately noticed the red welt circling my wrist. There was another above my other hand. Swallowing hard, I looked away, seconds from slipping into full freak-out mode, especially when my eyes met the sergeant's. They weren't hostile, but the eyes belonged to a stranger. I was utterly alone—with strangers who knew what I was and had captured me for a purpose. My blood pressure had to be through the roof, because my pulse was pounding, and the tightening in my chest couldn't be a good thing. As the pressure cuff squeezed down, I inhaled several deep breaths, then asked, "Where am I?" Sergeant Dasher clasped his hands behind his back. "You're in Nevada." I stared at him, and the walls—all white with the exception of those shiny black dots—crowded in. "Nevada? That's ...that's clear across the country. A different time zone." Silence. Then it struck me. A strangled laugh escaped. "Area 51?" There was more silence, as if they couldn't confirm the existence of such a place. Area mother-freaking 51. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Dr. Roth released the cuff. "Her blood pressure is a little high, but that's expected. I would like to do a more intensive examination." Visions of probes and all kinds of nasty things lit up my brain. I slid off the table quickly, backing away from the men, on legs that barely held my weight. "No. You can't do this. You can't—" "We can," Sergeant Dasher interrupted. "Under the Patriot Act, we are able to apprehend, relocate, and detain anyone, human or nonhuman, who poses a risk to the Nation's security." "What?" My back hit the wall. "I'm not a terrorist." "But you are a risk," he responded. "We hope to change that, but as you can see, your right to freedom was relinquished the moment you were mutated." Legs giving out, I slid down the wall and sat down hard. "I can't ..." My brain didn't want to process any of this. "My mom ..." The sergeant said nothing. My mom ... oh my God, my mom had to be going insane. She would be panicked and devastated. She would never get over this. Pressing my palms against my forehead, I squeezed my eyes shut. "This isn't right." "What did you think would happen?" Dasher asked. I opened my eyes, my breath coming out in short bursts. "When you infiltrated a government facility, did you think you would just walk out and everything would be fine? That there'd be no consequences for such actions?" He bent down in front of me. "Or that a group of kids, alien or hybrid, would be able to get as far as you did without us allowing it?" Coldness radiated over my body. Good question. What had we thought? We had suspected it could be a trap. I had practically prepared myself for it, but we couldn't walk away and let Beth rot in there. None of us could've done that. I stared up at the man. "What happened to ... to the others?" "They've escaped." Relief coursed through me. At least Daemon wasn't locked up somewhere. That gave me some sort of comfort. "We only needed to catch one of you, to be honest. Either you or the one who mutated you. Having one of you will draw the other out." He paused. "Right now, Daemon Black has disappeared off our radar, but we imagine it won't stay that way for long. We have learned through our studies that the bond between a Luxen and the one he or she mutates is quite intense, especially between a male and female. And from our observations, you two are extremely ... close." Yeah, my relief crashed and burned in fiery glory, and fear seized me. There was no point in pretending I had no idea what he was talking about, but I would never confirm it was Daemon. Never. "I know you're afraid and angry." "Yeah, I'm feeling both of those things strongly." "That is understandable. We are not as bad as you think we are, Katy. We had every right to use lethal methods when we caught you. We could've taken out your friends. We didn't." He stood, clasping his hands again. "You will see we are not the enemy here." Not the enemy? They were the enemy—a greater threat than a whole flock of Arum—because they had the entire government behind them. Because they could just snap up people and take them away from everything—their family, their friends, their entire life—and get away with it. I was so screwed. As the situation really sank in, my tenacious grip on keeping it together slipped, and then completely fell away. Stark terror whipped through me, turning into panic, creating an ugly mess of emotions powered by adrenaline. Instinct took over—the kind I hadn't been born with but had been shaped by what I'd become when Daemon had healed me. I sprang to my feet. Aching muscles screamed in protest, and my head swam from the sudden movement, but I remained standing. The doctor moved to the side, his face paling as he reached for the wall. The sergeant didn't so much as blink an eye. He was not afraid of my badassery. Calling upon the Source should've been easy, considering all the violent emotions rolling within me, but there wasn't a rush—like the kind you get when you're poised atop a high roller coaster—or even a building of static over my skin. There was nothing. Through the fog of horror and panic clouding my thoughts, a bit of reality seeped in, and I remembered I couldn't use the Source in here. "Doctor?" said the sergeant. In need of a weapon, I darted around him, heading for the table with the tiny instruments. I didn't know what I would do if I managed to get out of this room. The door could've been locked. I wasn't thinking beyond that very second. I just needed to get out of there. Now. Before I could reach the tray, the doctor slapped his hand against the wall. A horrific, familiar sound of air releasing in a series of small puffs followed. There was no other warning. No smell. No change in the consistency of the air. But those little dots in the ceiling and walls had released weaponized onyx, and there was no escaping it. Horror drowned me. The breath I took cut off as red-hot pain started at my scalp and coursed down my body. Like I was being doused with gasoline and set ablaze, a fire swept over my skin. My legs gave out, and my knees cracked off the tile floor. The onyx-filled air scratched my throat and scorched my lungs. I curled into a ball, fingers clawing at the floor as my mouth opened in a silent scream. My body spasmed uncontrollably as the onyx invaded every cell. There was no end. No hope that the fire would be extinguished by Daemon's quick thinking, and I silently called out his name, over and over again, but there was no answer. There was and would be nothing but pain. * * * DAEMON Thirty-one hours, forty-two minutes, and twenty seconds had passed since the doors had closed, separating Kat from me. Thirty-one hours, forty-two minutes, and ten seconds since I last saw her. For thirty-one hours and forty-one minutes Kat had been in the hands of Daedalus. Each second, every minute and hour that ticked by had driven me fucking insane. They had locked me up in a one-room cabin, which was really a cell decked out in everything that would piss off a Luxen, but it hadn't stopped me. I'd blown that door and the Luxen guarding me into another damn galaxy. Bitter anger surged through me, coating my insides with acid as I picked up speed, flying past the row of cabins, avoiding the cluster of homes, and heading straight for the trees surrounding the Luxen community hidden under the shadows of Seneca Rocks. Not even halfway there, I saw a blur of white streaking straight for me. They were going to try to stop me? Yeah, not going to happen. I skidded to a halt, and the light zoomed past and then whirled around. Shaped like a human, it stood directly in front of me, so bright that the Luxen lit up the dark trees behind him. We are only trying to protect you, Daemon. Just like Dawson and Matthew had thought knocking me out at Mount Weather and then locking me up would protect me. Oh, I had a nuclear-size bone to pick with those two. We don't want to hurt you. "That's a shame." I cracked my neck. Behind me, several more were gathering. "I have no problem hurting you." The Luxen in front of me extended his arms. It doesn't have to be this way. There was no other way. Letting my human form fade was like shedding too-tight clothing. A reddish tint spread over the grass like blood. Let's get this over with. None of them hesitated. Neither did I. The Luxen shot forward, a blur of brilliant limbs. I dipped under his arms, springing up behind him. Catching his arms, I slammed my foot into his bowed back. No sooner had that Luxen gone down than another took his place. Launching to the side, I clotheslined the one racing at me and then dipped, narrowly missing a foot with my name on it. I welcomed this—the physicality of fighting. I poured every bit of fury and frustration into each punch and kick, tearing through three more of them. A pulse of light cut through the shadows, aiming straight for me. Bending down, I slammed a fist into the ground. Soil flew into the sky as a shockwave rippled outward, catching the Luxen and tossing him into the air. I sprang up, grabbing him as intense, bright light blew off me, turning night into day for the briefest moment. I spun, tossing him like a disk. He smacked into a tree and hit the ground, but he quickly shot to his feet. Charging forward, white light tinged in blue trailed behind him like a tail on a comet. Lobbing at me what amounted to a nuclear power–strength ball of energy, he let out an inhuman battle roar. (Continues...) Excerpted from Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Liz Pelletier, Karen Grove . Amazing read that was well worth the wait!

If you have NOT read Obsidian, Onyx & Opal, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

This book totally makes up for Opal, which left me slightly disappointed except, of course, that ending to Opal. I'm seriously leaning toward this being my favorite book of the series. Writing in the point of views of both Daemon and Katy was just . . . perfect and awesome and hot. Seeing Katy through Daemon's eyes and being able to read his thoughts is what I've always wanted. To get inside that fiery head of his and it did not disappoint one bit.

I can't say enough good things about this book, in fact, if I could give it more than five stars, I would've. It was non-stop action, non-stop suspense and filled to the rim with romance. Though, you have to wait for a good portion of the book to get to that part but once you're there, holy hell is it steamy.

I was iffy about the dual points of views since, up until this point, our journey has been solely with Katy but getting inside Daemon's head, like I said earlier, was a journey all on it's own. Daemon is fierce especially when it comes to those he cares most about; his number one priority is Katy, even above his family.

Seeing Katy captured and held against her will was really hard, especially at times. Seeing a familiar face, when at one time might have helped, only now it hurts. A lot more than I thought it would. That saying, karma is a bitch . . . oh yeah, that's so true.

There's so much that happens in this book and I wish I could talk so openly about it but there are so many scenes where I didn't see the result coming, not even once it happened. My mind had trouble wrapping around one scene in particular and it really, truly hurt me. As a reader, we've grown attached to these characters so seeing certain things *highlight to view spoiler* (like betrayal) *end spoiler* is hard to see. So incredibly hard. There's death, which also effected me a hell of a lot more than I was anticipating. It still makes me sad thinking about it and how it's affecting everyone that we're reading about. So much death and destruction and this isn't even the end of this series. There's more to come but hopefully we've seen enough of the heartbreak, at least for awhile.

Daemon is a force to be reckoned with. If I were the United States government, I wouldn't have even made him an enemy of mine but alas, no one said the government is full of smart people. Let's just say, even if I were immortal, I would never want to come face to face with a pissed off Daemon.

Clearly, if you've read this far that I hope you've been smart enough to see my warning and have read at least the rest of the series. THIS is the book us Lux fans have been waiting for, even if we didn't know it. This was the book that will change everything. If you haven't read Origin yet then what the hell are you waiting for?! It should've been on your kindle or in your hands or at least ordered by the time it was released. Everyone is gushing about it and rightfully so; it leaves us on our knees begging, absolutely begging, for more.

If you thought this series was going to get less intense...you've obviously lost your freaking mind.

If you thought this series was going to get less intense...you've obviously lost your freaking mind.

It's so hard to put down all of my thoughts and feelings about this book.

Let's start with the relationship between Kat and Daemon. Good grief...if it burns any hotter I'll be a pile of ash when this series is over. With every page you turn, their love grows stronger and their passion is always like tinder, just waiting for the right spark to combust into a full throttle fire. But, what this book really portrayed was a depth to their love that is so unbreakable, so consuming, so selfless, that I was completely captivated by it. Daemon shows a side of himself that is raw and powerful and it has everything to do with his need to protect Kat. And, Kat...what a badass! I mean, I knew she was strong and capable, but the horrors that she has to endure during this book are unimaginable. The comparison of the way that it shapes Kat and Daemon versus how Beth and Dawson fared is blinding.

As for the plot and overall storyline. Brilliant. Absolutely freaking brilliant. This book is chock full and it never stops moving or throwing curves at you. It's incredibly complex. The web of intrigue, the action, the love, it's all part of an all consuming book that you won't be able to put down. I am always impressed with this author. ALWAYS. But this book, wow, I am blown away at er creativity, her ability to tell a tale, and the way that she makes it easy for the reader to navigate through the twists, turns, and layers upon layers, of story elements and characters. I was never confused, rather I was always eagerly soaking up every detail to help me unravel the mysteries.

If you're surprised to find out there is a massive, huge, unbelievable, incredible, insane, cliffhanger...you obviously haven't read the there books in the series. I hate reading a book with a cliffhanger when the next book hasn't released yet, but with Jennifer L. Armentrout, it's worth it. Every single time. If you haven't read this, you are missing out on an amazing experience.

Origin is addicting, Dangerous & Extremely Hard To Put Down

Loved it! That sums up my review right there. Everything that I've been hoping and wanting to happen between Daemon and Katy happens, along with a few surprises that I didn't even see coming. Seriously, just when I think this series can't get any better, Jennifer gives ms ORIGIN, and WOW! Talk about having a favorite book from the series. Jennifer pulls out all the stops with ORIGIN. There's shock, sigh worthy, laugh out loud and "No she did not just do that!" moments.

ORIGIN is full of snark, action, plenty of swoon-worthy moments, and twists. There's also plenty of danger, betrayal and a lot of danger, and oh yeah, a few fight scenes. I loved how Jennifer paced this story. There were moments were I couldn't believe what was happening, that would turn into moments where I could finally let out the breathe I was holding, that would turn into those oh as addicting Daemon and Kat moments, and then moments of "What in the hell just happened?". Oh yeah, ORIGIN has it all.

One of the things I admire about Jennifer's writing is that she does not hesitate to give it to her characters. Meaning, she is not afraid to make them hurt, to put them through the ringer, and to kill them off. She's also not afraid to give back to her characters too. With all the crap that happens in this book, and oh yeah, there's some seriously messed up things that Katy, Daemon and the group encounter/deal with, there are also these moments of hope, sweetness and holy hot tamales! Dang, Daemon does not hold back in this book, and it's about time! haha Sorry, I mean, FINALLY! Everything I've been waiting to happen between Daemon and Kat happens, but trust me, it doesn't all happen at the same time, and Jennifer does a great job at making me wait for it. In the midst of all the chaos those moments are the ones I felt most connected with the characters. I got their fears, and joy, and worries, and the moments were the world just melting away from them for a few minutes. *sigh* Yeah, those Daemon and Kat moments are so beautiful and sigh worthy.

Don't worry, Daemon turn into a softy, though he really did surprise me with what he does, and his thought process when it comes to Kat through out the second half of the book. His snark, and the things he says were still hilarious. Can I just saw, only Daemon could pull of some of the cheesiest lines I've read, and make it laugh out loudable. Most importantly, for me, Daemon and Kat grew up a lot in this book, and I loved seeing how they grow and change together.

Kat literally deals with some hellish things and I like that Jennifer didn't shrug off how that changed her. Seriously, no one could walk away from what she deals with and not be totally normal again. One thing doesn't change with Kat, and that's her strength. I admire her for it, and the fact that she would rather put herself in danger, than see the ones she loves deal with what she is going through. Even in the face of danger she still has that feisty attitude and those snarky comments. Her broken side is what made me love Daemon all the more. His wanting to take that all away from her, and make it right for her, along with this protectiveness and doing all he could to be there for her was so well written. I loved it. It made Daemon the most human reading these moments form his point of view.

I loved the dual point of views! I don't think this story could have been as well written if it hadn't been. Katy and Daemon's voice are complimentary to each other's, and they told the story perfectly. There's are too many shocking twists, discoveries and things that happen that had it been from just Katy's point of view, wouldn't have made the story as engaging as it was. Having Daemon's point of view helped paint a bigger picture, and really allowed me to understand him. I loved it. Where some series that I feel fall short when it comes to expanding on the world and lore that makes up the series, The Lux series expands on, and continues to make the over all story that much more exciting with each book.

Origin is addicting. It's dangerous, hard to put down, and it's a 400 page of pure awesomeness. Don't be scared by those 400 pages. This was a book I devoured in a matter of hours. Once you start it, there's no stopping. It's a heart pounding, sigh worthy, exciting read. I feel the need to say it's "out of this world", but I feel like Daemon would get mad if I stole his thunder on cheesy lines, so I'll just say, GO PICK IT UP!!

Back to the comment I made earlier about some of the Daemon and Kat moments- Jennifer wrote the moments between the two of them beautifully. When it comes to writing tasteful sex scenes in YA books, Jennifer's moments with Daemon and Kat where incredibly well done.

intense installment

I think this is my favorite installment in the lux novels. It's very intense, and picks up right where we left off. We are introduced to new characters and so much happens in this novel that sometimes when I go back to reread, I forget that some of the plot points didn't happen in other novels.

The cover to this novel makes me laugh. I mean this dude is just striding forward without his shirt on? Yeah, that's totally Daemon. The shirtless wonder who causes girls to instantly drop their panties. In the fourth book of the Lux series, we see much of the same as the other books. The plot is focused on our two overly horny main characters Katy and Daemon. There's more to the plot than that, but honestly, it feels like it comes second to the hormones of these two. Their relationship honestly begins to feel a bit flat to me in this novel, driven by pure physical attraction. Katy doesn't really develop at all; she's still whiny, obsessed and stupid. She makes dumb decisions over and over, and guess who joins her? Daemon. His decision to go and get her isn't stupid, but the series of decisions after that is. It feels like a lot of things happen just for the sake of the plot, when a logical person, as the other characters involved are supposed to be, would have said, let's think about this. Here's a far more effective alternative. I skimmed through major portions of this book because the description was not only burdensome, but repetitive. I get they love each other and want to rip their clothes off. Can we get to something more important than this? But that seems to be the most important part, because immediately after escaping these two are at it again ready to have a go. Who is really thinking about sex in these situations? I don't know...maybe it's because this sex is just so mind blowing. Wait...they're teenagers and this is their like fourth time together. That says it all. Overall, I'm left saying meh again because the plot seemed so centered on physical lust and what should have been the core of the plot just ended up being far too dramatic and drawn out for me. I'm on to the next book, just so I can finish the series, but I don't have high hopes. And as bad as it sounds, I can't wait for it to be over.

Embracing glowy alien powers across the globe

‘Origin,’ the fourth book in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Lux series really turned up the heat. Great to see a lot of things go wrong for Daemon and Katy, it brought back the angst and allowed them to really stand on their own as characters – and define themselves apart from each other. Our two love-birds are put through the ringer with plenty of action and subterfuge.

We get a bigger dose of alien powers as Katy’s circle of friends expand (I use ‘friends’ loosely). There is still lengthy, piney and over-described kissing scenes to be expected with Armentrout’s writing. If there were only a number of scenes, I’d love the indulgence, but with overstimulation, I was skipping forward most of it after a ways into the book.

There is so much I want to add to this review, but would only be listing a number of spoilers for those who have not read the series… but there are many surprises and some of the assumptions from the first three books are turned on their heads. I loved the action and the plot twists adding more an element of surprise that lacked in previous novels.

More of the spicy Daemon, and alien goodness from the Lux series. Looking forward to what the final book in the series, ‘Opposition’ brings.

Holy Smokes! Origin was Off-the-Charts Amazing!

"Origin" was an unbelievably amazing and mind-blowing fourth installment in the Lux Series. Seriously, it blew my mind in almost every way and pretty much left me speechless. I laughed and cried throughout, among other emotions, and it certainly took me on a roller coaster ride - one I will never soon forget. Ever. Jennifer L. Armentrout sure knows how to shock the ever-loving crap out of you, and at the same time, leave you craving for more. She definitely has an extraordinary and creative talent, but hopefully you already know that. :)

Most of the characters were amazing and completely blew me away, especially Katy and Daemon. They were amazing and perfect and so many other wonderful things. I actually loved them the most in this book, and I'm sure I will love them even more in the last novel. They were extraordinary, to say the least. I loved how the book was told from both of their POV's, which an awesome change since the previous books had only been from Katy's POV. Even after all they went through in the hands of the evilly sick and twisted Daedalus, they still managed to come out of it stronger than ever - maybe a little worse for wear, but still okay. They had each other, and that was all that mattered. A few events concerning them totally blew my mind and left me grinning from ear to ear. I was also pleasantly surprised to see some old faces and the introduction of a new character, Archer. I liked him almost immediately and cannot wait to see what happens with him and another character. They were all so very entertaining and it was effortless to connect with them. I truly loved them all and am so excited to read more about them!

The storyline kept getting better and better and even more detailed and intricate - and maybe a little more disturbing where Daedalus was concerned. They were one messed up organization, and though there were certain aspects about them that were better than others, they were still evil and I did not care for them At. All. I really hope they get what's coming to them.

I loved almost everything about "Origin," and it was my favorite installment yet. The ending left me totally speechless and definitely left me craving for the next one!

Book Review: Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout

First off, if you haven't started reading Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux Series, don't waste another second. Go grab the first book now...I mean it! Go! Okay, back to the review. When I finished Opal, the third book in this terrific series, I literally screamed out loud. Talk about a cliffhanger. Seriously, what the heck, Armentrout? How could you do that to us, huh? The shock, the disbelief, the pain...AHHH! I didn't think I was going to be able to wait for my copy of Origin from the library. (I was like 200-billionth on the wait list...okay, more like 50, but still!)

Well, I'm happy to announce my torture has finally ended. I now know what happens next in Katy and Daemon's tumultuous, romantic, action-packed saga...But, don't worry, I won't tell you. I wouldn't want to ruin any of the surprises ;-) I will say Origin lived up to my expectations and matched the quality of the first three books. It also kept things moving along. Sometimes when a series is longer than a few books I feel it has a tendency to stall out at some point. The plot halts to a grind and the characters stop evolving. Not so for the Lux series. Every book so far, including Origin, has kept things progressing.

And, just like its predecessors, Origin was filled with plenty of alien awesomeness, numerous twists and turns, and countless heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. Trust me, as you're reading, you'll feel angry, happy, sad, relieved, giddy, furious...Origin is a roller coaster ride of emotions that'll have you all over the place until the last page.

If you're a fan of the Lux series, Origin won't disappoint. And if you haven't picked up this series yet, go get started. It's fun, easy and thoroughly entertaining!
