Not the best book in this normally enjoyable series

Partners in Lime is the sixth book in Bree Baker's "Seaside Cafe Mysteries" series. I generally enjoy this series, but I felt this book was weak. Too much time was spent on romantic drama between Everly and Grady fighting about her snooping. It became very repetitive. I also got sick of reading about Everly being overweight and out of shape. Enough already. The mystery had potential, but it seemed like an afterthought. Everly's investigation was sloppy and, at times, outright ridiculous. This is not the strongest book in Baker's normally enjoyable series.

Great book, the characters are charming and well developed. Exactly what I’d expect from a seaside cafe mystery.

Loved It

This is the 6th installment in the Seaside Café mystery series. I have not read all the others in this series but I do have them in my TBR pile. I was able to follow and enjoy this book and mystery but itching to get to those books now since I enjoyed this story so much. Everly Swan lives on the island of Charm in North Carolina and runs the Sun, Sand and Tea shop and café on the beach. Everly is providing refreshments for the upcoming play the Lost Colony when she sees her friend Matt Darning is seen arguing with one of the surfers who is promoting a new event in Charm next month. Matt is punched by this guy who is Kai Larsen who is later found dead with an arrow in his back that appears to be from Matt’s longbow from the play. Detective Grady Hays (Everly’s boyfriend) is on the case and is not happy about Everly’s involvement with the case and Matt. Everly is positive someone is trying to frame Matt and of course the killer is giving her warnings with arrows and almost running her over. I love Everly how she is imperfect and loyal and is so open with her feelings. This was truly and interesting and engaging mystery and I love the ladies from the retirement community as well and hope they are in more books in the future. Could not put this book down. Will have caught up on the prior books before the next installment. Recommend.

Another wild trip to the beach

Another good book in a truly enjoyable series. The author has a way of transporting you to the beach for sweet tea, quirky characters and murder. Try as she might to stay out of trouble now that she and Grady, the local detective, are giving a relationship a go, all it takes is a murder and another friend to be implicated for Everly to jump in with both feet. While she tries to find the killer, run her business and keep her relationship on track, it will take everything Everly had just to stay alive!

A great beach read!

When I read this one, I didn't realize that it was the sixth in the series. I think that is why I had a hard time understanding all of the relationships of the characters.

The mystery was well-written and I enjoyed reading as it was solved. I enjoyed the setting of the book in a beach town with a laid-back Tea Shop. I would have loved more recipes as so many of the treats sounded wonderful! The earlier books in this series are going to be added on to my To-Be-Read list. I would suggest that these books be read in order.

Note: I received a copy to review through NetGalley.
