4 out of 6 Stories are From the 'I can read' Series!

My daughter lended a book of Pinkalicious 'Apples, Apples, Apples' from her school library and fell in love with it. So I purchased this thinking that I was getting her new real stories (not made up for the 'I can read' series). When I got the item, 4 stories out of 6 were 'I can read' stories! I really don't like 'I can read' stories because the story lines lack depth in order to use sight words. Because the 'I can read' series are shaped different, the publisher made those stories small to fit the page, and colored the empty pages pink. Only two stories fully fit the book. I had the same experience with 'Splat the Cat' book (you can see my review there as well), and I can't believe I made another mistake of buying this! The description should include that most of the stories are from 'I can read' series! For those who are still interested, I will list the stories included in this book so you don't buy duplicates
1. Pinkalicious: The Pinkerrific Playdate (I can read)
2. Pinkalicious: Flower Girl
3. Pinkalicious: The Princess of Pink Slumber Party (I can read)
4. Pinkalicious: Soccer Star (I can read)
5. Pinkalicious and the Pink Hat Parade
6. Pinkalicious and the Pinkatastic Zoo Day (I can read)

Great collection

This book was purchased for my three-year-old daughter. She loves the stories and the Pinkalicious character is an honest character and very relatable. I had already bought her a few Pinkalicious paperbacks and realized that overall you are saving a good deal of money to buy all the stories in this storybook collection, as opposed to each paperback individually.

Beautiful book at a great price

This is a beautiful collection of Pinkalicious readers. They are not the original Pinkalicious, Purplelicious, etc.. titles that my daughter also loves. They are fun stories that tell you more about the life of Pinkalicious, her parents, and her brother Peter. There are good lessons about sportsmanship, kindness, and imagination. Our favorites are the soccer and zoo stories. Pinkalicious is cute trying to get her teddy bear back from the monkey at the zoo. She and Peter make a stuffed monkey together to give to the monkey and trade for her teddy bear. I like that the siblings are realistic, yet work together and teach good family values. They are friends, but they also fight and tease each other. However, they are not mean and don't teach kids bad values. I like good books like that. It's also a great deal instead of buying them individually. You get a bunch of stories in one instead of spending $4+ each. And it makes a great gift because it's a nice book. It's a nice hardback instead of the paperback readers that always bend and rip and are easy to lose.

Great collection of stories in a hardcover at a great price

My 2-year-old daughter loves Pinkalicious and asks to read these books all of the time, but I think they're extremely suitable for a girl of at least 8 years old as well. Love the hardcover format of this so it stays nice through the years of use, and the fact that there are several short stories.

Pinkatastic!

My 3.5 year old is recently Pinkalicious obsessed so this was a must. It has a mix of I Can Read titles and picture book titles in it. My daughter's current favorite is The Flower Girl but she really loves all the stories in the book. She prefers this over the 5 Minute Stories book at the moment...but she likes both those books and none of the stories overlap between the 2 collections.

These stories are really cute, and pinkalicious is a likeable and relatable main character. To the reviews that say that some of the stories are way too simplistic, I believe that is because a few of the stories are meant for early readers to start to learn to read on their own. Some of the stories are similar style to the original Pinkalicious book, although maybe a bit shorter. My 3.5.-year-old likes all the stories.

Cute But Simple

I am not familiar with Pinkalicious so I bought this book based on the rave reviews and the fact that it was a nice hardcover collection of stories for a young girl. My daughter is less discerning than I am when it comes to stories so it has served its purpose and made her happy. Personally, I find the stories to lack complexity or depth. In Pinkalicious and the Playdate, Pinkalicious basically has a dream playdate with her new friend. The others show a little more awareness of conflict or challenges. On the positive side, Pinkalicious is likeable and with the selection of characters out there I should probably just be grateful she doesn't say "stupid" or have a negative attitude toward the difficult life these pre-schoolers seem to lead.
