Description

“The most colorful, hell-raising, bomb-throwing ex-SEAL commander of them all.” ― Playboy “The appeal of this series lies in Marcinko's sense of humor mixed with traditional thriller elements, creating a laugh-out-loud read that somehow melds the wackiness of Janet Evanovich with a military thriller a la Clancy.” ― Booklist “Th man who pioneered the kind of special ops unit that took down bin Laden…” ― CNN “Founder of the elite ‘SEAL Team 6'…that many believe led the assault on bin Laden's compound.” ― The Washington Post RICHARD MARCINKO is a living, breathing hero―he was honored with the silver star and four bronze stars for valor, along with two Navy Commendation medals. After serving in Vietnam, he started and commanded SEAL Team 6, the Navy's first Counter-terrorist command, and Red Cell, a high-level anti-terrorist unit whose exploits, fictionalized for security and legal reasons, have formed the basis of his novels. Besides an active speaking and consulting calendar, Marcinko keeps his hand in the field as the president of a private international security company. He lives in Warrenton, Virginia. JIM DeFELICE is the author of many military based thriller novels and is a frequent collaborator with Stephen Coonts, Larry Bond, and Richard Marcinko, among other New York Times bestselling authors. He lives in New York.

attention to detail is lacking here

I am an old school Rogue Warrior fan dating back to the early 90s and have bought all of Marcinko's books including the business book he wrote.

I just wonder how much of these he writes (or even reads) any more because there were a number of technical mistakes that were just careless and make you question the other tech details. He talks about a ".356 magnum" revolver and a "Strum" Ruger rifle. Come on. Those are little details but if your industry knowledge is that limited whoever IS writing these needs to pick another genre.

Nevertheless a good story about Mexican crime gangs...I wonder how close to reality this is.

Classic Rogue Warrior

Classic Marcinko. Run, gun, have fun. The last two books have him slowing down a bit. Maybe he's making room for Junior? Only time will tell! I never get tired of these books.

Fun story but writing is fading

I love the stories and characters but the writing is getting worse over time. I wish Marcinko would go back to work with John Weismann, he was a much better writer. Style aside the story is entertaining and if you are a fan of Marcinko's books like I am you will be glad to have another volume to watch him fight through. Always makes me wish I had become a SEAL.
