Worst Stone Barrington book ever.

This is a meandering story looking for a plot and a conclusion. A myriad of characters, uninteresting and just plain dumb. What has happened to Stuart Woods and who is writing his stories. Please bring back my old Stone Barrington and Stuart Woods

Disappointing Out of Character Story

Warning - some minor plot spoilers...

Stone Barrington is a very sharp guy, a legal professional, exceptionally wealthy, and a former cop. So why the story diverged into him making a series of boneheaded security mistakes that resulted in the loss of $5 million just did not make any sense. His house is fortified from top to bottom with extreme security, but he gives out the security code to his current bedfellow as well a letting her know that he has all sorts of cash on hand, despite knowing her only a short time.

I also found it professionally out of sorts that a major bank would not accept the money because their counting machine was broken, nor did they offer to secure the money for Barrington and Barrington didn't ask if they would.

That Barrington failed to recognize a client at the end of the book after only a short period of time between visits was also pretty silly.

Sorry, but this book isn't up to Woods' normal standards.

Another winner from Stuart Woods

I love Stuart Woods books, and the characters. The reader changes voices to keep it lively and interesting, and the voices are the same from book to book. Never get tired of the series! If you're a fan, like I am, you eagerly await the next Stone Barrington adventure.
