Starfell #1: Willow Moss & the Lost Day

Fairly well written and keeps your attention. However I was concerned that the author painted those with religious beliefs as being prejudiced and bullying, while doing the same thing herself by summarily dismissing and demonizing an entire group without showing respect for their beliefs. A confusing message for children. Having an antagonist in a story is necessary for the protagonist to have something to fight against. But bringing up the serious issue of bullying, while teaching blind prejudice against any group, undermines the lesson that is being taught- and sidetracks an otherwise interesting story.

I read the magical Starfell by Dominique Valente and illustrated in the UK by Sarah Warburton (the illustrations are so amazing I’ve Ordered a UK copy for myself). 💚💜💚💜💚💜💚💜💚💜 I love the magical mystery of this book more than I can express! It’s such an exciting adventure! Willow Moss helps the amazing witch Moreg Vaine find Lost TUESDAY! Yes the entire day of Tuesday was lost! And the adventure along the way is Epic! They meet trolls, dragons, fortune tellers, and past seers. There are castles, magic cupboards, and flying brooms! And best of all there is a grumpy old Kobald (he is not a cat) that is quite the character!!! I give it 5 thousand stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!! The writing is brilliant. It’s perfectly timed out! I recommend this for adult looking for a magical experience. I recommend this for kids and teens looking for a magical experience! And I recommend this for moms and dads to read to their young kids to share quality time!!!💜💚💜💚💜💚💜💜💚💜💜💚💜💜💚 I read the book earlier this year and fell in love it all the characters and twists and turns of the the book! I then listened to it on @audible I give the audible a five star review as well! The narrator does a different voice for each character and their is music. You can picture every character and event with the magical narration! It’s perfect for family car rides and trips!!! 🐉🐲🐉🐲🐉🐲🐉🐲🐉🐲🐾🐲🐉🐲🐉🐲🐉 My favorite character is Feathering the Dragon! And I cannot wait to read book 2! (And those after it!!!!) The magic continues and I’m so excited!!!

This book was such a good book for young readers. So imaginative and fun. With witches, dragons, trolls and a kobold. Willow Moss is the main character and she doesn’t think much of her power which is to find lost things. Until one day one of the most famous witches Moreg Vaine comes to her for help to find the missing Tuesday. This book followw the journey to find out what happened to the missing Tuesday. Some of our favorite quotes from the book are;

Loved this book! Read it with my 10 year old and we both enjoyed it. It was a fun, exciting, and captivating read all while touching on deeper issues such as friendship, family, inclusivity, self-love and growth. This is the first book of the Starfell series and we can’t wait to read the rest!

Such a lovely story about a young witch named Willow Moss, who goes on a literal and figurative journey of self-empowerment and self-discovery. The book is filled with interesting an engaging characters who help Willow along her path. If you believe that there’s a little magic in every day you’ll be pleased to have read this book.

Wonderful and magical and endearing. A wonderful series that needs to keep going and going and going!

October is the month for Halloween 👻 and the magic ✨of #starfell ⭐️set the scene.

The @bullybookclub book 📚 of the month 🗓was #starfell ⭐️by @dominiquevalente with @harpercollinsch @harpercollins as publisher.

I 💁🏼‍♀️ am not typically a lover of any story that is magical 🧙🏼‍♀️, fantasy 🔮, or young adult 📜in theme. @dominiquevalente opened the door 🚪 for me 💁🏼‍♀️ to realize that this type of story can transcend any boundary.

Willow Moss 🙎🏽‍♀️takes us on a journey 🧹 to find Tuesday 📆, which has gone missing. Throughout her journey 🧹 , she 🙎🏽‍♀️is faced with obstacles 🐉 that test her spirit. She 🙎🏽‍♀️befriends some of the most unlikely characters 🧑🏼‍🔬🧙🏼‍♀️🧚🏽🧝🏽‍♀️, as she 🙎🏽‍♀️ learns the meaning of true friendship 🌈. Although the ending is bittersweet💜, it doesn’t disappoint.

I 💁🏼‍♀️give this story 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, as I listened 🗣 to the story on @audible . It was AMAZING💥. The change in character 🧙🏼‍♂️🧝🏽🧚🏽‍♀️voices, the magical sounds✨, and the transitions between chapters made the book 📖come to life. I could easily see this book 📖become a play 📽or a movie 🍿.

What a great book for both adults and kids! Magical , fun, and a great message. Willow doesn’t have a flashy power and feels quite ordinary....but yet she saves the day... Tuesday to be exact! :-)

I just adored this book. Young Willow discovers her magical powers, and reluctantly goes on a mission to (literally) save the day. Along the way she meets the most charming cast of characters. Would highly recommend for young readers who enjoy magical tales, and women of all ages who need to believe in themselves and their talents!

We read this book as part of a book club for bulldog owners and it was a great read! It was sweet, light-hearted and a perfect book for October.
