Unnecessary revisions to the book

I read this book in eighth grade many years ago. Was so engrossed in it at lunch that when the bell rang, I jumped. It was great. I ordered it for a quick read to bring back memories. Had to smirk when I noticed it was updated. Instead of typewriter, it read computer, dvds, and the cell phone was added in the book. Wasn't necessary. People should respect that certain books and movies have taken place in a different era of time. Some people just can't stand that the word cell phone or laptop isn't included.

Updated version

Not the original. This should be the first line in the description.

Lack of reaction

Ok, I'm a bit stunned by all the other 5 star reviewers. As this book was an OK book, with a different sort of story, I was very unamused with it. Every part of this book was Predictable, which I did not like! Not only that, there was a huge lack of emotion. There was so little reaction and emotion to when something big took place or happened. No focus on the event whatsoever. The character expressed no surprise or shock to anything! I couldn't connect with her nor any of the characters (especially having no emotions). I just never read a book where the main character was so passive to big things happening! I just wanted to finish reading it to get it over with, hoping for a good ending.

Pretty good

This book is a little bit harder to pay attention to I find it’s kind of boring at times still a pretty good read I think it may have been meant for a younger adult

Also I am not really happy about the bad words

when I bought this book, I was hoping for a scary thriller. I didn't really get much of that. First of all, the whole 'going out of my body' is kind of strange. Also I am not really happy about the bad words. I mean, Lois Duncan really didn't have to update it and add bad words. It was unnessacary. So I am going to give this book three stars.

Freaky

In one word - Freaky! I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this story! It was really scary in a neat way. I totally freaked when she was sitting in front of the mirror and her image smiled at her and she realized that she herself was NOT smiling! Ohhhh I love it when things like that happens in movies and it sent a chill over me while reading it here as well!

I despised Laurie's so called friends and boyfriend. I'm like all they had to do if they cared at all was ask her family if she had been home sick but instead they would rather doubt her. That's just not a friend to me which it more or less says she was only a member of their crowd on accounts of her popular boyfriend anyhow but still...

I was not overly excited about "part" of the ending but if I explain I will be spoiling it for anybody whose not read it so I will leave it at that.

Duncan is always dependable

I can always count on Lois Duncan to bring her best to any novel she writes. Stranger With My Face is about a young woman who is haunted by someone who appears to be her. How can that be? Who is this mysterious person? And will our main character be harmed? This book is solid all the way through. It begins strong and ends strong. I think teens and adults alike will enjoy anything Lois Duncan writes, especially, Stranger With My Face. 5 stars***** (Thank you to Hachette Book Group for my review copy.)
