This time, they’re really in trouble. As Vardia descends into chaos, Captain Darian Frey is doing his best to keep his crew out of it. He’s got his mind on other things, not least the fate of Trinica Dracken. But wars have a way of dragging people in, and sooner or later they’re going to have to pick a side. It’s a choice they’ll be staking their lives on.Cities fall and daemons rise. Old secrets are uncovered and new threats revealed. When the smoke clears, who will be left standing

A good end to a good series

I personally found the Ace of Skulls to be a fun read and fitting end to the Tales of the Ketty Jay. While the story felt a little slow at time (compared to the first 2 books), and I wasn't particularly fond of how a certain character was written off (I could just be bitter because I liked them, but it did seem a bit cheap), I still found the Ace of Skulls to be thoroughly enjoyable and I found that it provided satisfying closure (though admittedly one bit of closure made me cry; I get too attached, haha).

Look closely

If you look at the cover closely, those are Nerf guns he’s holding.

If that makes you more inclined to buy this book, it’s probably for you.

One Helluva Ride!

Well that was a humdinger of a book. Admittedly some of the battle scenes went on a little too long - or maybe that was just me wanting to get back to the more character driven, emotional beats - but I suppose it all evened out in the end. This book, like the series, had a little bit of everything: action, humor, friendship, romance, and the inevitability of change. So a big shout out to Mr. Wooding as well as to Captain Frey, Malvery, Crake, Jez, Silo, Harkins, Trinica, Samandra, Slag, and Grudge. Thanks for the ride. It was a blast.

What a ride!

A very satisfying conclusion to an outstanding series. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at the tragedy and the triumph.

I'm torn between reading Wooding's other series because I want more, and avoiding them because there's no way they can be as wonderful as what I just read.

Great series conclusion!

The final "Ketty Jay" is probably the best in the series, I liked these books a lot,and while I'm sad that the series is over, Wooding did a great job concluding it. If you haven't read the other books, I'd recommend getting all 4 in the series and barnstorming the lot.

amazing fun

BEST GOT BETTER. Sequels usually get boring or over drawn. The Ketty Jay series just got better and better. Great dialogue. Mysterious villains. Very clean *( no Game of Throne grittiness). Sad it ended.
