What has happened to Nora Roberts?

This is the worst NR book I have ever read. I have a library where 10 shelves are filled with NR books but I will tell you with this Trilogy she has lost her spark. I won’t buy any more books. This fell short and felt like a bad rewrite of the One (which I did like). Repeat storylines. This one the sidekick was over the top syrupy sweet and had a much bigger romance than the heroine and hero. Guess the rainbow on the cover was clear. And the rape/sodomy was completely unnecessary. Yuck.

Boring and repetitive

It makes me sad to say this but Nora’s writing has gone down hill for me. I call it “Nora-isms”. Every character sounds the same. I missed her old writing style like with Public Secrets. Back to this book the story dragged so much. Same with the romance. Would have returned it if I could have. WAY to much Marco. I’m sorry it just felt forced and I really wish the story focused more on Breene and delved more in training and her romance.

My opinion

I have read so many of Nora Roberts books and enjoyed them but this series is different. I find that all people must now write with the attitude that all people are happy with this woke society. I for one am not all the the gay and lesbian writing that permeates this book is not what I buy a book to read about maybe she should put up the liberalism and just write what is enjoyable to read. I purchased and read the first book in this series also, and will think maybe I will find others authors who will leave the political stuff for the TV that bombards us every day.

Disappointing too PC

I was so looking forward to this book but so far, it's been a disappointment. Nora has gone to PC and inclusive with Marco and I don't care to read about his "love" scenes..... not sorry there. Also, the story just drags on and on. There is a LOT of TMI in this one. Will finish it but it's going to be a chore. This series is a chore

Second book in the Dragon Heart Legacy

After re-reading the first book in this series, I was ready for The Becoming. Another whirlwind ride with Ms. Roberts in the world of Talamh, the interactions of Breen with them, and the importance of Breen to the safety of Talamh.

Danger is coming closer. Portals keeping the dark out are being pushed against by Breen's grandfather, who needs her blood to be able to take over all the worlds. We're once again treated to the Magicks that make these books so good. More background about Talamh, with more information about the people of that place.

Did I mention Marco grabbed onto Breen when she was being whisked through a portal so she could get to Talamh quickly...well he does and it's marvelous. Marco adds much to the banter between all the people of Talamh and Breen. The love he has for his bestie, Breen, shines through.

Another great book by Ms. Roberts. Can. Not. Wait. for the conclusion of this trilogy.

Awful

Ms. Roberts is a fine writer, which is why I purchase her books, but this series is dreadful. I managed to get through the 1st one, but the 2nd entry is more repetition of all the stuff that went on in Book One. The characters all seem stuck in place. And the characters are boring. There's no charm to the story of magick. Gave up after 200 pages. Hope Ms. Roberts next trilogy is more engaging.

So disappointed

I enjoyed the first book. I didn’t like this one and won’t order the third which is very unusual for me. I love Marco but he seemed to be the main character in this book where Breen took a back seat. The romance was stilted and uncomfortable.

What the hell

I loved the first book once Marco left and we finally got to know Breen. But damn, her gay friend Marco is in pretty much every scene and it’s so disturbing and ingenious how obsessed everyone is with him. Marco, Marco, Marco. He’s the most boring, one dimensional character who can do no wrong. He only exists in this book so Nora can get points for diversity. And then the gay sex scene… I’m so sick of this being pushed on me every time I open my eyes. If you’re going to write gay sex then count me out. I miss the days when stories went into the full depths of a human being and not just “omg I’m your gay, black best friend and love you so much and you love me blah blah bleeehh”. But I’m frustrated because this had the potential to be a badass story but instead we get to hear all about Marco and Marco’s butt buddy

Just okay

The first book in the series was great but this one just drags on and on. It sets up for a third book when I wish she’d have just gotten on with it in this one.

Nora Roberts has lost a long time fan!

This book is horrible. She completely moved off of the main character and put more emphasis on the gay friend. She obviously succumbed to "Political correctness". The sex scenes literally made my stomach roll and I couldn't even finish the book. Shame on you Nora Roberts. My friends and I have been LONG time fans and supporters. You have lost at least 12 readers that I know of because of this book. We will never buy another NR book again.
