Fast read about sports

This is an interesting sports story by two talented authors. It appears to take a page from the Los Angeles Lakers Buss family dynasty and their drama. Three brothers and a sister are in line for control of their family's NFL team the Wolves when their father dies from a fall, or a push, from his boat. Jenny, who left the family responsibilities for a life of high school teaching and football coaching, is left control of all family companies in her father's will. There begins the drama for the rest of this entertaining, exciting, and fast story.

Almost an all nighter

Ah, Patterson at his best!!! The book grabbed me from the start, and I read 83% of it (according to my Kindle) in one sitting, and then it was hard to stop for some sleep. Great storyline, character development is good and it keeps you guessing right until the end. Anyone who likes a page turner with a few twists, this is for you

Amazingly prescient?

How did this book begin with a fictional riff on what happened to Damar Hamlin a week before this book’s release date? Was this a last minute update to the e book version. If so it’s very disrespectful in my opinion. If this book was actually finished before his almost death on January 2nd then this book is downright spooky.
Mike Lupica has become one of my favorite authors since he took over Robert B Parker’s Jesse Stone and Sunny Randal series and managed to keep the soulfulness of Robert B Parker’s characters. James Patterson is, well, James Patterson. Their take on the toxic deadly NFL battlefield of billionaires and dirty money mobsters couldn’t be more topical. These two authors are in a masterclass of there own and this book proves it.

Wokeness

Downloaded sample. Second chapter - woman coaching a high school football team. I’m done. Sick of woke ideology. Teenage boys don’t need their mommy to be coaching them. I read mostly older books to avoid feminism, gay brigade, trans, etc.

A Fantastic Read

A terrific crime/sport thriller that could only be written by the world's greatest fiction writer and best sports journalist. And I'm excited that the Vikings made it to the Super Bowl again. Hope they didn't lose it for the fifth time.

Twists and Turns - So Satisfying!

Lupica and Patterson weave an exciting, satisfying, pages turned of a murder-mystery that begs to be read in one sitting. The characters are boldly drawn and full-bodied. They are easy to care about, like Jenny and Thomas Wolf, or despise, like Jack Wolf and John Gallo. The death of patriarch John Wolf leads to family hatreds played out on the front page of the family newspaper, TMZ, and NFL owners' suites. One Wolf murder leads to another as the football team, the San Francisco Wolves, goes from bad to worse to better as bad men fight for its control. The twists and turns are unexpected and unrelenting.
Even if the reader is not a football fan or doesn't really understand the sport, Lupica's expertise lends easy understanding.
Highly recommended for all adult readers!

Must Read ASAP

Could be the best....Beth Dutton running an NFL team instead of a hedge fund and ranch. a quick read.

First chapter coincided with real NFL drama almost as if it was rewritten

Quick read

This book is fast paced, and easy to read. The characters are predictable, but still interesting. It was fun to read a story about football, even though I’m not a huge football fan. The ending was a big disappointment, it wasn’t a bad ending it just fell flat and was confusing. Important characters were introduced in the last few chapters, these characters should have been included at the beginning.

Riveting!

I have read several of Patterson's books, and I think this is one of his best. Continuous action and suspense. I couldn't put it down.
