Description

From School Library Journal Grade 4-6. This addition to the popular sci-fi/fantasy series continues the adventures of five young people who have acquired the power to morph into animal forms from their alien friends, the Andalites. This power has helped them to survive and keeps the evil Yeerk invaders at bay. Then Cassie starts hearing strange and disturbing messages in her dreams and realizes that she is receiving a distress call from a stranded Andalite. With Jake's encouragement, she decides that they must try to rescue the alien before it is killed by the Yeerk's leader. Danger mounts as they enter the ocean as dolphins to start their search, and Cassie suddenly understands what it means to be a leader. She is truly afraid of being responsible for this mission and for her friends, and her struggles to come to terms with her decision are realistic and engaging. Though the five children are stock characters, and the conflict is thinly developed in parts (readers never hear what the message really imparts), the descriptions of becoming and living as dolphins and other animals are impressive, as is the group's knowledge that their special powers are in reality powerful weapons not to be used lightly. Average series fare.?Linda Bindner, Athens Clarke County Library, GACopyright 1997 Reed Business Information, Inc. Down in the deep blue sea...

Cassie, Jake, Rachel, Marco, and Tobias have been given the power to morph, change nto any animal they touch. They have to use this power to defeat the Yeerks, a slug-like species who wants to control the human race by taking over their brains. They have been through terrible things and have had strange dreams as a result. But when Cassie and Tobias start having the same dream about the sea, the Animorphs (the kids) decide to investigate. All of them (except for Tobias who is stuck as a hawk) morph dolphins and swim in the ocean looking for whoever sent those dreams. Is he friend or foe? "The Message" is just like all the others in the series: super thriller!

Animorphs rock

I love the series so much and no longer have my collection as I gave them away when I was young. So I am rebuilding my collection one book at a time. These are easy and quick reads and are more compelling than a lot of books written and targeted at adults. If you are tired of the Vampire Twilight dribble and are into YA titles pick one up.

A great underwater adventure

I thought this book was really good, the Animorphs took a good underwater adventure. I thought the whole book was fast paced, my favorite part was when they were in dolphin morphs and faught that shark.

Cassie's acting a little fishy...

Cassie keeps having strange dreams from someone who says they need help in the ocean. At first, Cassie decided to just ignore the dreams since dreams usually never make sense. But then Cassie started to realize that something strange was going on when she found out that she wasn't the only one who was having those weird dreams. Tobias was having them too.

When they told the other Animorphs about their dreams, they all decided that the one who's calling for help must be an Andalite. But the only way to find out is to morph water-breathing animals and search the ocean. So they aquire a dolphin's DNA and morph dolphins. But there's a problem. Visser Three and other controlled creatures are going to be searching the ocean. Will the kids be able to find the Andalite and make it out of the ocean alive--or will the ocean be their graves?

THE MESSAGE is a pretty good Animorphs book. Something I really liked about this book was that I learned a lot about dolphins (even though it wasn't meant to) and it's cool seeing someone's point of view from the ocean. Also, this book marks the first appearance of the new character, Ax. And Marco has a lot of hilarious and classic lines. So all in all, this novel--the first Cassie book--is a must read for Animorphs fans.

Dolphins+Animorphs=A Great Book!

Cassie and Tobias have these strange dreams of someone (or something) is calling for help. So the animorphs fine out this person or "thing" calling for help is at the bottom of the sea. So the Animorphs morph into dolphins (my favorit animal) and go to the area the "thing" is calling for help from. And when they get to the area they find out the "thing" as an animal call an Anlite. but the Yerrks are heard the calling too and there closing in so the animorphs have to get out of there fast.
This is a good book.

Nope

Bought this, advertised as a paperback in “very good condition”. While the book may have been a paperback at some point, it’s some bizarre bastardization of a hardback book. While I wasn’t expecting mint condition, there are tons of barcode stickers directly over the book, and lots of damage. Very disappointed.

Very super very important

Rachel is just like David from the animorphs David trilogy a dangerous threat and need to be trapped in a morph with or with the morphing ability restored ! And Rachel and this female andalite with a name I do not know how to say maeglin both made the same mistake saying when I hit two hours I will be trapped in a morph when lay should of said when I go over two hours I will be trapped in a perment morph maeglin is from a fanfic or a fanfiction animorphs story ! And since Tobias is trapped in a morph Tobias mother loren who is human is useless because she is blind and need to be trapped in a morph because Tobias mother Loren will be more useful and helpful trapped in a morph and it make perfect sense for Tobias mother Loren to be trapped in a perment morph and any member of animorphs who is trapped in a morph there family member who have the morphing ability need to be trapped in a perment morphed body !
