How come these people never put the same scrutiny to other religions like they always do to Christianity

Yet another book that tries to disprove the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How come these people never put the same scrutiny to other religions like they always do to Christianity? This book basically tries to say that true Christianity was a conspiracy contrived by the church and true spirituality and the true Christ are found in the Gnostic Gospels just like their last book Holy Blood, Holy Grail. All one has to do is hold the Gnostic Gospels next to the Biblical Gospels and ask the hard question: "which one has more integrity, which one makes more sense, which one is more believable?" These authors and others like them do exactly what the Apostle Paul wrote about in the book of Romans chapter one: "They suppress the truth in unrighteousness...for the invisible things of God from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." "Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped the creature rather than the creator." "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." The only good thing about this book is that it does show how there is a certain religious belief behind every philosophical system, even Nazism and Socialism. That's the only reason I gave it two stars. Sorry I wasted my time and money on such junk. I've recently discovered that the whole DaVinci code thing was a hoax. That should have been obvious. And these people think that true Christianity (not Roman Catholicism), was a conspiracy. Wow!

Loony-bin ramblings

To each his own, but I think these are loony-bin ramblings. The authors throw in religion, history, sociology, and cabals into a soup where everything swims with everything else. This is how folks think in the loony bin: One says "Dead fish", the other answers "William the Conqueror." But the authors seem to be unaware of true cabals. For instance, they take the two world wars at their face value, not realizing that in both cases the wars were being sponsored by a cadre of bankers sponsoring both sides of the conflict.

The authors try to explain the history of Jesus, but in a way palatable to Christians. If you're a Christian, you might find this good, if you're not, this won't exactly thrill you. It should be noted that their view of the origin of Christianity is that this was cooked up Paul. The same thesis is put forth by Eric Zuesse in his "Christ's Ventriloquists," but in this case from a non-Christian point of view. If you are not a Christian, I would recommend this version.

However, it seems that both Baigent et al. and Zuesse miss the point of how Christianity really originated. The religion and its first books were cooked up by the scribes working for Emperor Titus and the Gospels are a burlesque of The Wars of the Jews. "Jesus" was a very common name in Judaea and there certainly was not a person named "Jesus" who started the Christian ( = Pauline) religion, but Emperor Titus who wanted a religion to make folks docile ("Turn the other cheek").
For the real story, see Joseph Atwill's "Caesar's Messiah." The latter of course will not be found palatable by Christians, regardless of how liberal they may be.

A fictive hoax.

Never mind that Holy Blood Holy Grail has been refuted as a hoax by peer reviewed scholars. If there were any truth to these claims such high powered groups would have made sure the authors vanished and that the publication never saw the light of day.
