Features & Highlights

  • Wyatt Palmer was a middle-school hero, but that doesn't count for anything in high school. When a ferret goes missing in this hilarious follow-up to
  • The Worst Class Trip Ever
  • , Wyatt and his friend Matt find themselves as unwanted guests at what turns into the Worst Party Ever!
  • Last year, Wyatt foiled a plot against the president of the United States and became the hero of middle school. But now he and his friends are in Coral Cove High School—home of the Fighting Conch—and Wyatt is a hero no longer; he's just another undersized freshman, hoping to fit in, or at least not be unpopular. Things start to go wrong when Matt Diaz, who is Wyatt's best friend but also unfortunately an idiot, decides to bring his pet ferret, Frank, to school. Through an unfortunate series of events Frank ends up in the hands of the Bevin brothers, who are the most popular boys at Coral Cove High, but are also, as Matt soon discovers, the nastiest. When Wyatt and Matt try to get Frank back, they concoct a plan to attend a party for the cool clique at the Bevin's waterfront mansion and stumble onto the Bevin family's dark and deadly secret. That's when Wyatt learns that some things are worse than being unpopular in high school. MUCH worse.

77 million stars!

I am a 62 year old grandmother who owns a used bookstore. I read ALL the time.

This is probably the most fun, scary, engrossing, interesting, entertaining book I've read in the last six months. Sorry, adult best-seller writers.

It is 'read many bits out loud to your long-suffering partner' funny.

Best Book Ever

Dave Barry is a great author in general. We love that he now has children's books as well. My son LOVED this book. He checked it out at the school library but loved it so much he had to add it to his collection. My son had a speech competition at school (they were supposed to memorize and perform prose) he memorized a few pages from this book to perform and ended up being one of three third graders in the whole school to make it to the finals - competing against the finalist from fourth and fifth grade. Even the older kids enjoyed his prose and have since read the book. He enjoyed this book more than the Worst Field Trip Ever.

My 11 year old son absolutely loved this book

My 11 year old son absolutely loved this book, as well as Dave Barry's class trip book. My son does not enjoy reading at all, and it is always a struggle for him to do it. He read this book very quickly and actually enjoyed it. I can't really give a review of the book since I didn't read it, but the fact that my son was asking for more of these books is a huge compliment to the author.

Funny AND Exciting

Two 12-year-old grandsons, with very different personalities, both LOVED this book. We think Dave should write more books for this age group (when he is not writing more books for their grandmas)!

... Ever" - she found that all it takes to enjoy reading is to find a book that entertains

My 9 year old niece hates reading but when introduced to Dave Barry's "Worst Night Ever" and "Worst Class Trip Ever" - she found that all it takes to enjoy reading is to find a book that entertains. Dave Barry not only had her reading and enjoying it - but reading and retaining the story long after she finishes.
Hope that he continues with this series of classmates (Wyatt, Matt, Cameron and the crew).
