  • Sarah, his personal chef
  • Anna, his wife
  • Serena, his maid
  • Accountant Anthony Costello has a talent for manipulating both numbers and people, turning losses into profits, enemies into allies—and vice versa. When Costello is found murdered in his own home, three suspects had motive. All three had access to his home. And all three women are missing. Are they in the wind—or in the grave?
  • Eyes are on Detective Sean Walsh, whose personal connection to the case is stronger than leads to solve it. Neither the powerful bankroll behind Costello nor Walsh's vengeful superior officer can budge the investigation, yet as Walsh continues to dig, he uncovers even more reasons the women have to stay hidden—from the law, and from each other.

JP, What Were You Thinking?

Anyone who gives this more than one star either didn't read it, or they are related to either JP or SS. This book has no redeeming qualities. Bad story, bad characters, and bad dialogue. Very disappointing. I should have put the $25 in the collection plate. JC

Not what I expect from Patterson.

I'm only five chapters in, but so far this feels like something from a junior high school writing class. I hope it gets better and if it does I will update this review, but so far I am just rolling my eyes and thinking WTF! I wish Michael Connelly would put out more than one book per year, those are worth reading! *** Update - I tried to continue, made it partially through Chapter 16 . . . but I cannot continue, the narrative is complete shit! The 2nd paragraph in chapter 16 includes a sentence that says "Crap, crap and more crap." That pretty much sums up this book. I rarely start a book and not finish it, but this is so utterly unbelievable that I cannot continue. I am done with Patterson! Michael Connelly, please write more books and put out more TV shows like Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer. Not sure how this gets 4+ stars on Amazon, but if I could give it a -100 I certainly would. I shall now continue reading Julia Child's MASTERING THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING! I'm sure it has more substance than Patterson's (and Serafin's) turd of a book!

Absolutely the WORST book

In the distant past, I could always count on a James Patterson book for enjoyment. I’m an avid reader and have read Patterson books as long as I can remember. This book is just awful and I’m forcing myself to finish it. This co-writer has disappointed me before. I usually preorder my books on Kindle and have more Patterson books coming but from now on I will wait to hear the public’s reviews before spending money on stuff like this trash which is not even written well. I may just be done with James Patterson books. I’ll stick to Grisham, Finder, Archer, Coben and a few others. I’m adding Patterson to Stuart Woods books to the trash can
