Too much detail, not enough story!!

I have enjoyed this authors books over the past several years but this book is making me crazy. I love to read but not enjoying this book. Too much intricate detail of everyone!! When is the story really going to take place? Someday I will read it but not at this time.

Take a pass on this book.

In the mood for a quick read, a mindless one, I decided to give Barbara Delinsky another try. The character of Cassie was interesting and she was almost believable. Almost. Then, almost halfway thru, the subject of child pornography came up. It was mentioned as just a sleazy way to make a living. Just a bit worse than pornography between consenting adults.

“Kiddy porn” almost makes it sound funny. And it’s not a matter of “hiring children” to make a disgusting movie. These children are raped. Repeatedly. Their childhoods are destroyed. They are dehumanized and it happens with every purchase, every viewing.

Don’t read this book. Read Andrew Vachss. He’s spent his life dedicated to abused children. He reports what happens to them. He also writes excellent fiction. He started that because as an attorney who only represents children, he also needed to make a living. He works in New York where the legal system gives abused children legal representation as well as criminals.
