Fun and Well Written Cozy Mystery

This is the third book in a trilogy (although I hope there are more) about a witch who owns a catering business. The mysteries are well written and very entertaining. I liked the main characters and want to read more about them. Highly recommend.

Wonderful read

Mia runs a cooking and takeout school. One day a body is found outside her school. She also lives in the school. She becomes a suspect. Well she needs to find out who the victim is and who murdered him. Very well written. I am looking forward to more books.

Watch what's cooking in Mia's garden!

A series seriously starting to gain traction. I am not normally a big fan of paranormal in my books but there is just something about Mia that makes her interesting. Maybe it's the bent towards witch "light", trying to make the food magical, the whole magic vibe is light and positive, unless, of course, it is aimed at her, which seems to be the case when a body is found right outside in her garden to be.

I like how Mia is trying to grow her business, she is smart, and actually works, a pet peeve of mine when small business owners never actually "work" at their business. She continued to explore the building she owns and learns more and more of it's secrets.

Although Mia has no idea who the man that is killed is, she knows that it's going to be up to her to help figure out who did it and why this murder is somehow tied to her.

Two Wicked Desserts Good!

I am a big fan of witch based cozy series (some even accuse me of being a witch cozy connoisseur). Lynn Cahoon’s newest addition to the “A Kitchen Witch Mystery” series, Two Wicked Desserts is an enjoyable read, but… it needs a lot more magic. Honestly, I would love to see more magic being performed in this series, especially in the kitchen, where Mia’s talent is supposed to shine, and this book could have done with a great deal more of Gran and her abilities.

Mia is cooking up a storm, but when a body is found in her back yard, the cooking almost comes to a stop as she investigates the identity of the victim and tracks down a killer. As a witch who creates magic in the kitchen, Mia’s business is booming, but it wouldn’t take much to derail all of her progress, and having another body show up could tip the scales. Finding out that the victim may have been killed by Dorian’s (aka Mr. Darcy) daughter, Cindy, with a spell gone wrong, puts them all in jeopardy. It’s hard to find suspects other than Cindy when the victim is unknown. Slowly Mia begins to find suspects and clues to the victim’s identity and the murder, but in doing so, she places herself and Gran in danger.

The victim in this story plays no part in the overall scheme, he is an unknown person, and even when he is identified as a hitman, he doesn’t play a role. No one knows who the hitman was after, or at least no one is claiming to know. The relationships that are developing are exciting and make the characters come to life. The setting is fun; having lived in Idaho for many years and knowing how beautiful it is, I would like to see more descriptions of the town. The murderer is uncovered, but it is difficult to get a real sense of finality in this case as the evidence is sketchy at best. I’d like to see more magic in the next book and the witch aspect explored more in-depth. Grans story, I think, would be fascinating to learn. A few questions are not resolved in Two Wicked Desserts, but hopefully, the next book will present some solid resolutions to the ongoing issues. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.
