Great series for kids

My daughter watched the movie for SWINDLE and then read the book. She loved them. This is a follow up. The books are a bit different from those who have seen the first film, as the characterizations are not as "Nick Friendly" but its still a great series that engaged my 9 yo.

I love a man with a plan!

I bought two copies of the book. My grandson practices reading out loud with me and I read the second copy with him to assist with pronunciation and comprehension.
The book was a very pleasant read and we learned several new words and shared several laughs as the story progressed and we saw how a mom reacted to the giant "rat" in her basement! It was an enjoyable pleasure to share this story with my grandson. I especially enjoy that he is beginning to enjoy his reading more and more and hope that he will love books as much as I do! The second book has now been passed on to another grandson who I am also sharing the story with!

A great book about a zoo break, but not the kind you think!

Do you want to read a very interesting and mysterious book? Well, try Zoobreak by Gordon Korman. The characters include protagonists - Savannah,Cleopatra,Luthor,Griffin, and Ben and antagonists - Klaus and Mr. Natase. The setting of the book is in a town called “Cedarville” and two zoos called “All Aboard Animals” and “Long Island Zoo” during the school year. The theme of this book is kids fighting against unfairness by taking matters into their own hands. In this book, Savannah's monkey, Cleopatra, got kidnapped and went to a horrible floating zoo on a barge called “All Aboard Animals.” Savannah and her dog, Luthor, were very sad. To solve the problem, Savannah and her friends made a plan called “zoobreak” to rescue Cleopatra, but when they got there, they realized all of the animals were malnourished. The security guard at All Aboard Animals, Klaus, caught on to them. Luckily, he got stuck in a vent trying to get Savannah’s friend Ben. So then it was their time to go get Cleopatra. They successfully rescued her, but Savannah wasn’t going to leave without all of the other animals, so Savannah and her friends took the other 40 animals with them. There was a problem though, they didn’t have anywhere to put them. So they each put different animals in their homes until they could find a place. Griffin came up with the idea to sneak the animals into the Long Island Zoo - a zoo break! But the owner from All Aboard Animals tried to ruin their plan by trying to hurt two of the friends and steal other animals. Luckily, the police came and arrested him. Savannah had a friend who worked for the zoo, and when she came back from Africa she agreed to keep the extra animals.
