30,000 Years of Art : The Story of Human Creativity across Time and Space (mini format - includes 600 of the world’s greatest works)

This was a college textbook I need for summer semester, and it’s on the heavy side but has a lot of art dating from Egyptian, Islamic, Christianity, early medieval, Byzantine, Roman, Greek, modern art to a bunch more! It’s writing is short and sweet with pictures of every art piece from painting-sculpture-metalworks-jewelry-frescos-statues-vases etc... if you need this for school or scholarly use, at the end of the book it’s has the date, publisher so fourth to work cite your sources. It’s a very good book and small but heavy. I use little post it notes to bookmark my sources.

Bought for a 7 year old. There were two pages that were graphic that I carefully Xacto'd out, but other than that, perfect gift; my child loves looking through the whole history of art and it sparks questions about science and history. Very cool.

This book slyly blends important canon pieces from antiquity and non-western cultures while also showing lesser known works by many in the western canon. Go ahead and guess which works are featured by the likes of Leonardo, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Hokusai, Manet, Rodin, Seurat (cute!), van Gogh, Gaugin... The chronological organization puts world art alongside the European canon pieces while also granting introductions to lesser-known works by artists you might frankly be sick of.

Didn’t want the humongous coffee table book so got this one. Perfect rundown of world art!

I was looking for a pocket size book of art. This is not it. Extremely heavy book for it's size.

Love this book, I bought it for a young artist in Cuba, he will never find this book in his country so I'm traveling there and surprised him. Thanks for the opportunity to save me some money.
