Morning meetings will never be the same!!!!

I love this little book! It was mentioned in a Kindergarten blog so I knew I had to get it! I searched the local Teacher supply stores, Barnes and Noble, and local libraries- no one had a copy. I then decided to look on Amazon and there it was!!!!
I love everything about this book! It has Morning greeting ideas, Morning messages ideas, and group meeting ideas. There's suggested lessons and options for differentiation!
I teach Kindergarten and I have used this book faithfully in my classroom!
Thank you!!!!

Wonderful and Fun Activities to start the day

Perfect addition to my morning meeting. Administration purchased for each grade level to share, and once I had the opportunity to review the activities I realized that I needed my own book. Actually purchased an additional copy for a team member. My kindergarteners always start their day with a positive social interaction and this book is a wealth of additional and new great ideas!

Great Resource

I was sold on the first day of using this book. It is written in a way that is easy to understand and use. My students have begged to do some of the greeting activities over and over. It is a great way to help children learn positive ways to interact with other children and to encourage them to step away from their "besties" and learn the value of new relationships! I have only use this book a week, but I have to say it is my favorite addition to what I'm doing different this year!

Fantastic new direction for my new school year and discipline program!

Even after 27 yrs. In education there is always room to change things up and grow!! After researching online on Amazon and reading LOTS of reviews, I purchased this book, "Morning Meetings", and ",The First 6 Weeks of School" just to follow it along, implementing morning mtgs in the planning of the day. THEN, I found a digital M.M. purchase on a teacher site so I wldnt have to write so much. Plus it can make it an interactive activity implementing all of the things I learned in these books. It displays right on the w.b.
You cld do that yourself, but I just thought I'd suggest it so maybe you cld either think of starting to build M.M. ideas on PowerPoint slides that area editable and cld be reused again and again, it look to purchase some already done. There cld already be something on Amazon but I never looked.
Good luck shaping your new classroom....I'm problem going to do mine 3-4 days a week. Right now I cant seem to fit very many closing circles in, but I'm working on it! Total game changer from last year, btw....so happy!!

Successful Morning Meetings

The ideas in this book provided me with a great way to start my morning meetings for several years. I teach 2nd grade and some of the songs/chants at the beginning of the book seemed like they might be geared for younger students, but most of my 2nd graders loved them. They do not have enough of this at home anymore!

I use this book for my student teaching

I am now teaching leading the morning meetings everyday. I have found some GREAT ideas. Once you familiarize yourself with each of the lessons, you can quickly flip to one and use it depending upon the need (emotional support, greetings, connections to lessons).

Noticeably More Well-Behaved Class

Didn't end up using this book as much as I thought I would, but it gave me a starting point for the year. My kids BEG me to do morning meetings and I can tell a difference from last year's class to this year's and the relationships I've been able to build through morning meetings. At the start of the year, we did morning meeting every day to get to know each other. Now we just do it every friday. The important thing is to set up rules for morning meeting and really stick to them. If my students misbehave, then they lose their MM privilege for the following week. They self-police and keep each other in check because they don't want to skip a whole week without MM.

Great ideas

Very helpful book for teachers. Lots of ideas for young elementary age students. Some of the ideas may be a bit too challenging if you have a class with challenging behaviors. They have tips for success in the book too.

Excellent resource. I liked it so much

Excellent resource. I liked it so much, I asked my principal to buy a copy for the other K-2 teachers in our building! Easy activities to use and the book is a quick resource. The writing and layout of the book is made for teachers that don't have the time to read through page after page to get to the activity. One activity per page and those activities that need materials, use materials that are readily available in the classroom. Love it!
