Features & Highlights

  • Life as I knew it ended the day I accepted my fate.
  • In its place is an existence even the wildest imagination could never fathom. Strange creatures walk among us, plotting our demise, and I’ve come to find that the fate of our world rests squarely on my shoulders. We’re all in danger and I’m trying to figure out how to make it through each day.The key to my survival is a man I can’t figure out. As dangerous as the darkest fae, I have no choice but to work with him to stop the prophecy that’s foretold to be the ruination of mankind.Carrick Byrne continues to be my only source of information, but he doles it out as he sees fit. He intrigues and scares me in equal measure, yet I can’t help but be attracted to him. And the more I discover about him, the more it becomes clear he feels the same.As we travel to Faere in search of answers, we find that every piece of information leads to more questions, that every question leads to a new piece of the puzzle, and that, most importantly, no one can be trusted. The more secrets we uncover, one thing is certain— if we have any chance of saving the world, we have to do it together.
  • A Discovery of Secrets and Fate
  • is book two of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

Fabulous Series But Start At The Beginning! ...Cliff-hanger warning

I was delighted when I won a copy of this book at a Facebook release party. First I have to tell you it's a cliff-hanger! I would recommend you read this story from the beginning, in order to understand the awesome world Sawyer has created. The resolution to the tale won't come until the last book. For me as series binge reader, I would prefer to read this in a boxed set or binging on it after I had all the books in the series.

This is the continuation of Finley's story as she learns how she plays into a prophesy about the saving the earth realm. We don't know the prophesy but she plays a major role it it. Her protector and guide is Carrick Byrne who is a multi-billionaire in Seattle. She knows he's something besides human but doesn't know what or what all his powers are. She's dependent on him to teach her about this new reality she finds herself in and how to navigate it. She and Carrick own a coffee shop in Seattle and she has three good friends she lives with, Adira, Rainey and Miles. Her twin sister Fallon apparently died on their 28th birthday transforming into a dark fae. Wow what a journey this series is. I'm fascinated by the characters, creatures and magic in this story. I can't wait to see what comes next.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great read, 4,5 Stars

The second book in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil, written by S. Bennett, continues the story of Finley and Carrick.
The story picks up where the previous book was left off. Finley just witnessed the transformation of her twinsister into something else. Fallon turned into a dark fae and left this realm.
Finley's powers are growing, but can she save this world? Together with Carrick she does everything to keep they save and find her sister.
When you enjoyed the first book, this one is a treat for you. Welcome back to a fantastical pnr world and a outstanding story. A read in one sitting book. I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is The Revelation of Light and Dark. The story continues in the next installment.
