Smaller than Expected

This copy of Album of Horses is exactly the same pictures and text as the one I had as a girl (I'm 72 now). I got it for my granddaughters for Christmas. It is a beautiful book, but I was a little disappointed that the size is smaller than the original. The description told the dimensions, but I didn't look closely. I would have purchased it anyhow, but I prefer the larger size book.

I had this book as a child so bought one for friends daughter. This one is a smaller size and it has parts of the large color plates truncated. If I didn’t have an older version of the book I don’t know if it would be that noticeable

I had to have it!

I read it 60-odd years ago and loved it. When it popped up on my recommendations on Amazon I knew a 70 year old could have a child's book and enjoy it all over again. Marguerite Henry's winning writing style was a joy to relive! All of her books are classics.

A BOOK TO BE PROUD OF

This is a beautiful book about horses. Coffee Table quality. My granddaughter fell in love with the book in a store at Buffalo Bill’s Museum in Cody, WY. The price was more than I wanted to spend. Once we returned home I found the book at Amazon for a much better price and surprised her with it for Christmas!

A treasure to keep in the making .

An older sister had this book when I was little, back in the 60's . It was well loved &well worn. The illustrations, by Wesley Dennis, are as beautiful as I remembered. That quality of artwork you just don't see now days in children's books or otherwise . The descriptions & histories of the horse breeds are well done &very informative. Every young horse lover would be thrilled to have this Album of Horses by Marguerite Henry for their very own. A keepsake we lost many years ago and now gladly have again.

Great classic book but this edition is of poor quality

I read this book a million time s as a child. I bought it for my granddaughter. It is not oversized as the original, which I admot, I could have determined if I read the description more closely. The print quality is poor.
