Well-researched Historical Romance that's very worth the read

This is a lighthearted, adorable read. With the warmth and enamor of a new love, this story accurately depicts the feelings of a fresh and passionate relationship. While not without steam, this story instead focuses on the emotions at play; making for a wonderfully grounded balance that makes it stand out from many others in the genre.

No character is weak. The author has chosen to fully develop a lovable, smaller cast, rather than weakly depicting a larger, superficial one. For example, I loved Percival's questioning nature, as it added a wonderful depth to how he discovers his own "tendencies" and feelings. While this is a male/ male romance, the female characters are never lacking. There may even be more than one happy ending in store.

A tasteful, delightful read for anyone who wants to feel the spark of new and compassionate love.

A delight!

This is such a sweet tale!

Percival Valentine is delighted by new arrivals from London taking up summer residence in the sleepy countryside village of Linston: the Barton siblings, a charming brother and sister pair, and the mysterious Mr. Everett, who charms him right out of his seat upon their first meeting. As Percival grows closer with his three new friends, he finds that Mr. Everett proves to be far more than just "a distraction" - it seems that the handsome Mr. Everett wants to court him.

This is an excellently researched and wonderfully written period romance, full of well-thought out details, and the characters are so endearing you cannot help but fall in love along with them.

A Neat Little Romance

Percival is kind, proud of his job and likes things in order. Life is dandy in the English countryside. That is, until Mr. Everett appears and with the Barton’s, a brother and sister pair, to take up in the county manor as guests of the absent Lord.

In fact, there is a lovely romance in it for Percival just waiting to bloom if only he would see it. While they all become friends, and for some, lovers, it all takes a turn for the worst when news from London that suggests the guests are not as polite and wonderful as they may appear.

The story has some nice sexy bits and some tension. I liked the setting and the slow build of the romance. The author did a brilliant job with the background history as well which I really appreciate.
